JOSAA 2021 Round 1 Seat Allotment

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority or JOSAA 2021 has announced the seat allotment result today at 10 AM. Based on the ranks obtained in JEE Main 2021 examination, candidates will be allocated seats in the NITs, IIFTs and other engineering colleges. Similarly, based on the marks and ranks in the JEE Advanced 2021 examination, candidates will be allocated seats in the IITs of the country. Those candidates who are allocated with the seat allotment must complete the remaining formalities by October 30, 2021.

The JOSAA 2021 round 1 seat allotment result can be checked from the official JoSAA website. Given below are the steps to check the same.

Step 1- Visit josaa.nic.in and click on ‘View Seat Allotment Result – Round 1’

Step 2- Enter JEE Main application number, password, security pin and click on the ‘Login’ button

Step 3- The seat allotment result for round 1 will be displayed.

However, after the declaration of results, students seem to be worried about the state of eligibility proof. Now, state of eligibility proof is a document that has to be uploaded. Indian nationals who have passed their XII examinations within India have to upload the Class XII passing mark sheet or certificate. Similarly, NIOS or similar board students will have to use their Class XII admit card or I-card mentioning the place of the study centre.

On the other hand, Indian nationals who have passed their Class XII or equivalent examination from an institution abroad or Nepal/Bhutan have to upload their passport mentioning the permanent address in India. Similarly, OCI or PIO students who have passed their Class XII or qualifying examination in India have to upload their Class XII passing mark sheet or certificate. However, OCI or PIO students who have passed their Class XII or qualifying examination from an institution abroad will not be eligible for Home State Quota.

The opening and closing ranks for JOSAA 2021 round 1 seat allotment are not available yet. However, the previous year data is officially available. In case a candidate desires to check the previous year opening and closing ranks, then can head straight to josaa.nic.in and click on ‘OR-CR in 2016/2017/2018/2019/2020’ under the ‘Opening and Closing Ranks’ category. The option can be found on the bottom left side of the screen. Now, select the required round, year, instate, etc. and check the ranks.

Every course in every institute has different opening and closing ranks for different categories. For instance, in 2020, the OR and CR for the ‘Gender-Neutral’ category for Civil Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar were 6836 and 8816 respectively. Similarly, Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay has OR and CR of 02 and 63 respectively for the ‘Gender-Neutral’.
