Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board has released a notification for the recruitment of District Cadre Posts of Accounts Assistant (Panchayat). The shortlisted candidates are selected for the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. JKSSB has advertised a total of 1889 vacancies for the said posts. Shortlisted aspirants receive pay scale of pay matrix level-5 Rs.29,200/- to Rs.92300/-. Candidates can submit the online applications form from July 20, 2020, onwards. The last date for the submission of applications is August 31, 2020. To fill up the online application form, candidates must visit the official website of JKSSB which is jkssb.nic.in. It is mandatory to mark the preference for the District Cadre during the application procedure. Candidates have to make a payment of Rs.350/- for the submission of the application form. The fee can be paid through online mode using Net-banking/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro/Rupay Credit card/Debit card. Candidates are allowed to fill only one application form for all the District Cadre posts. In case more than one form is submitted by the candidate, his/her candidature is cancelled or to the worst, they are debarred from appearing in the future examination of the board.
Only those candidates who are domicile of Jammu and Kashmir and possess the domicile certificate are eligible for the recruitment. The upper age limit of the candidates is calculated as on January 01, 2020. The upper age limit for OM and Government service/Contract employment candidates is 40 years, 42 years for Physically Challenged Persons, 48 years for Ex-servicemen and 43 years for SC/ST/RBA/ALC/IB/EWS/PSP/OSC. Candidates who are applying for Account Assistants (PAnchayat) must have a graduation degree with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved category). Candidates having post-graduation degree with 50% marks or PhD degree or equivalent educational qualification are also eligible to apply.
The overall merit list is prepared based on the marks that candidates secure in the written exam. In the written examination, candidates have to answer objective type questions in English. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks in JKSSB Accountant Assistant recruitment. The syllabus for the JKSSB written examination can be downloaded from the JKSSB website. Shortlisted candidates are called for the document verification round where they have to carry documents in support of the educational qualification, age, domicile certificate, reservation claims. Those candidates, who somehow failed to make their district cadre preference during the application process can choose the same in later stages when asked. Candidates are appointed for the particular cadre on the basis of merit-cum-preference.
