Why Is JEE Main 2019 Being Held Twice But Not NEET 2019; Aspirants Not Satisfied With NTA’s Decision

Since the breakout of the final NEET 2019 schedule, it is now official that NEET 2019 will be conducted once a year and in pen and paper mode only. On August 23, 2018, the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) hosted the press release of NTA held 5 exams – JEE Main 2019, NEET 2019, UGC NET 2019, CMAT and GPAT, which says that NEET will not be conducted twice a year and neither it will be conducted in the Computer-based mode.

This has thrown the NEET 2019 aspirants in quite a dissatisfied zone. They are are demanding reasons on why NEET like JEE Main 2019 is not being conducted twice a year.

Earlier, Ministry of Health has given reasons to MHRD and requested to rill back the decision of NEET 2019 in online mode and twice a year stating several valid reasons. The reasons being, first, if NEET 2019 is held in online mode than the rural candidates will be at a disadvantage. Second, they said twice a year schedule of the exam will add a lot of pressure on NEET 2019 aspirants. Many will appear for their class 12th boards and many will also opt for the JEE Main 2019 exam. This will mean a continuous 4 months of examinations.

However valid the above reasons are, candidates feel this is an unfair move, as this reasons hold true for the JEE main 2019 aspirants too, but JEE Main 2019 is being conducted twice a year. NEET 2019 aspirants feel this to be unfair stating that the situations and reasons stated for NEET 2019 not being held twice a year are valid for JEE Main 2019 aspirants too.

In our earlier reports, many aspirants have commented voicing their dissatisfaction on this move bt the NTA.

The above are few of the many comments that we have received. The decision of conducting NEET 2019 once a year and JEE Main 2019 twice a year is yet not clear. However, candidates are clearly not happy with this move of NTA.

The government surely have some reasons to differentiate NEET 2019 conduct from other 4 exams that NTA will be conducting from 2019 onwards. NEET being the only medical entrance exam has always been surrounded with controversies and has remained the center attraction. Thus, to conduct NEET 2019 with such big changes requires more thought. This might be one of the reasons to conduct NEET as it was being conducted with no changes.

NEET 2019 will now be conducted on May 05, 2019 and the registrations for the same will start from November 01, 2018. JEE Main 2019, on the other hand, will be conducted first on January 06-20, 2019 and then on April 06-20, 2019 in 8 sittings. The registrations of JEE Main 1 2019 exam will start from September 01, 2018 and the JEE Main 2 2019 registrations are scheduled on February 08, 2019.

Do let us know what are your opinions on NEET not being conducted twice a year like JEE Main in 2019. Comment below!

I am not happy with the nta decision
    Neet must be conducted twice
    Neet 1 online
    Neet 2 offline
it is unfair to conduct once a year

Why neet 2019 not conducted twice which is contrary to JEE .This ambiguous decision by NTA not considered even laymen brain.Although many comments provided but Ishow order of Hon’able SC in favour of opportunity for various languages of question paper of neet since past. Then why not NEET 2019 in CBD & offline mode both twice in a yr.This will humble opportunities for everyone either ruler as well as urban which may feasible for anyone.

I also live in a rural area but I will not face any difficulty in giving NEET paper in computer. What they think about the rural areas students? We are not so unaware of the technologies. NEET 2019 should be conducted twice as the aspirants will get another chance to give the exam. The reason that the rural areas student will face problem is not a satisfied answer. At least, by giving first neet exam, the aspirants will come to know the level of the neet exam.Rural students are also not upset with this decision.

Neet twice but offline was the a common sense decision ..NEET decision is completely politicised by this U-turn government.
We must approach supreme court medical aspirants are always victims of injustice….hell with these politically motivated policies

Is there not a single practicing advocate or electronic media personality who’s child is a NEET aspirant ? These two types of professionals can help deliver NEET aspirants justice. For every body’s kind info Mr Ravish Kumar of NDTV is busy in receiving justice for intellectuals only.

You can’t fight governments decision. However, the proposed model was the best for all sincere students. Rural students are already at a disadvantage with NEET since the number of exam centres are so low. Whereas prior to NEET the state level exams used to have 10 times more centres. Moreover if you see the NTA website previous data the number of centres were more (all district headquarters) than what is/was fixed for PAPER NEET. I feel the original announcement of NTA about NEET was more rural friendly than the current one.

Neet should be taken twice a year and in online mode.
Those who have problem with online mode they can participate in practice exams which NTA will take before final exam.
Secondly those who are in class 12 and going to sit for Board exam they do not need to appear in NEET on February. But repeaters can participate in NEET on February. This will decrease the number of participants on May.
Moreover computerised mode will make the exam simplier and economically efficient (i.e. cost for executing the exam will become low). Students can choose their exam slot and date according to their will out of four given options.
Finally, ticking the correct answer with mouse in computerised mode takes much less time than filling a circle with pen on omr sheet in pen and paper mode.
Hence in online mode students will get more time to solve a question.
For all these reasons I will say NTA should take NEET also in online mode and twice a year.

Why our gov and NTA doing partiality among jee and neet aspirants.i don’t think that the reasons they are giving was just a formality and nothing else I am a student of class 12 and if neet will done twice a year I feel less pressurised but now I am feeling too much pressure in my mind and about rural aspirants if gov is setting offices for practice for jee then why they are unable to setup these policies for the practice of neet . This is not good .Due to this desition many neet aspirants feel descriminate.
    😭

Like JEE mains NEET should be conducted twice a year. If there is disadvantage for rural students then not only NEETstudents but JEE students also come from rural areas and JEE should be conducted in offline mode. Sir it is our humble request that NEET should be conducted twice a year . It is so unfair that NTA is conducting JEE twice but NEET only once a year.

  14. Yogendra says:

Neet will be conducted two times bcz it doesn’t create pressure on student but it releases pressure from student bcz students get one more chance to perform better . And if neet is held only one time than it creates pressure bcz students have only one chance to perform better and if they can’t do then they have to wait for one year this situation creates pressure .so plse change the decision of helding neet only one time in a year.
