JEE Main 2019 exam has begun and is now going on across 467 Centres in 258 Cities. This is the first time that National Testing Agency is conducting the most awaited engineering entrance exam of the nation. The exam is being conducted in the online mode entirely for the first time ever.
Soon after the exam is over for the first shift today, answer keys will be made available unofficially. The first shift is going on and will end at 12:30 PM. The second shift will then start at 2:30 PM and will end at 5:30 PM.
NTA has released the details of registration they have received for the JEE Main 2019 first attempt exam. The total registrations received for Paper 1 are 9,29,198 and 1,80,052 for paper 2. As per details by NTA, 21791 candidates are registered for the examination at 17 centers in 15 cities in the North Eastern States. Whereas, 7551 Candidates have registered at 09 centers in 04 cities in Jammu & Kashmir.
As per the data, in Paper 1, 3,19,834 male registrations have been received in general category. Female registration in general category in Paper 1 is 1,32,638. The overall registration received in paper 1 is 9,29,198.
In paper 2, male registration received are 47,481 and female registrations received are 36,957 in the general category. Total registrations are 1,80,052.

The paper 2 exam is being conducted across 390 centres on January 08, 2019 only, in 2 shifts.
NTA takes invigilation up a notch using technology
With the national level examination at stake and also the reputation of the first time in action – NTA, there are quite impressive preparations done by the body to conduct the JEE Main 2019 Exam:
A Control Room has been opened and 25 State Coordinators, 254 City Coordinators, and 566 Observers have been positioned. CCTV Surveillance is started in all examination centers to curb malpractices in the examinations.

In orders to stop misconduct and cheating using any internet friendly devices, NTA has installed Jammers at all test centers of JEE Main 2019.
It is to be noted that no question paper will be available to the candidates this time after the exam, as the exam is being conducted in the online mode. Also the answer keys that will be available right after the exam will be memory based.
