JEE Main 2018: Things to be taken for jee main exam, instructions, timing, rules

JEE Main 2018 will be conducted tomorrow in the offline mode. Tension among the students is currently running high. While many candidates are focussing on last-minute revisions and preparations, there are few important instructions about the exam day that may slip out. These instructions are very important as they help the candidates to take their examination without any problem. Instructions regarding what to carry, what to wear, what are the timings and exam centre rules are some of the most important things that candidates seek few days before the examination and are also very important.

Candidates are informed that they will be able to see all JEE Main 2018 Answer Key and question papers, solutions after exam. Before that, bigger point to be noted is that entering the examination centre on time is one of the most important things. JEE main 2018 exam day schedule has been prescribed by CBSE and flow of events on entering the exam centre will take place accordingly.

Is it mandatory to enter the centre 2 Hours before the examination?

Although it is not mandatory, the checking process will be done whenever you enter the centre. Thus to avoid wasting time in the checking process candidates are advised to enter the examination hall before the commencement of the examination. Reaching the examination hall 2 hours before as mentioned above, will allow the candidates to settle down and plan a strategy on how they will go about in attempting the JEE Main 2018 question paper. It is for the convenience of the candidates that the board has prepared the schedule in such manner.

JEE Main OfflineIt is wise that the candidates are ready with the items that are needed to be carried in the examination centre the night before.

Aspirants must not forget their JEE Main 2018 Admit Card along with original ID Proof, and PWD Certificate (if applicable). Clipboards are allowed but it must be clean and nothing should be written on it.

If a candidate is appearing for Paper 2, they will be allowed a geometry box, Eraser, Pencils, Colour pencils, Clipboard and Crayons.

Diabetic candidates will be allowed to carry sugar tablets or fruits such as banana, apple or orange and a transparent bottle of water. Packed food items will be not be allowed like chocolates, candies, sandwiches etc.

Non-diabetic students will not be allowed water bottles inside. Tha facility of water will be made available inside the centre by the authorities.

To all the candidates be it for the online mode of the examination or for the offline mode, ballpoint pens and extra sheets for rough works will be made available in the centre itself.

What ID Proof will be Valid for JEE Main?

Voter ID card, Pan Card, College/School ID Card, Driving License (not learners), and Passport will be valid ID Proof for JEE Main 2018.

It is important that the candidates are reaching the JEE Main 2018 examination centres on time, no candidates will be allowed after the commencement of the examination. The frisking/checking process will be done on the entry.

A proper dress code for the examination is to be followed. Although no dress code is implied by CBSE for JEE Main 2018, there are certain instructions that the candidates must keep in mind. wearing full sleeves must be avoided as during checking it may cause trouble. Do not wear any kind of jewellery and be in comfortable items of clothing.

Calculators, Slide rules, Log Tables, Wrist Watches, Printed materials and Paper should not be carried to the exam hall. Bags will not be allowed inside the centre. Instructions from the invigilator are to be followed at every step and information must be provided as and when demanded by them.

Wrist watches are not allowed, neither the analog watches nor the Digital ones.

JEE Main 2018 will be conducted in offline mode on 8 April (for Paper 1 and Paper 2) and in online mode on 15 and 16 April for Paper 1. After the conclusion of the examination, the official answer key of JEE Main will be released on April 24, 2018. The answer key is used by the candidate to have an idea of their JEE Main Ranks.
