JEE Main 2021 April attempt has been deferred till further notice and there is uncertainty about when the remaining 2 attempts (April and May) will conclude. Therefore, this has led the authorities to take some decisions for the JEE Advanced 2021 exam scheduled for July 3, 2021, and there are chances that the dates might defer.
As per media reports, a 3 member committee of IIT Kharagpur responsible for the JEE Advanced 2021 met to ponder over the situation in sight right now. Various calls, messages, and emails have been also received by the committee from the parents / students for clarification on the Advanced dates.
“As things stand, we are likely to change our date from July 3 because there has to be a reasonable gap between Mains and Advanced,” shared Debashish Chakraborty, Chairman of JEE Advanced 2021.
This year IIT Kharagpur is holding the JEE Advanced examination. The application process of the Advanced level of JEE starts when the final result of Main level is out. This year the final result of JEE Main 2021 was to be declared in May and the application process for advanced was to begin in June tentatively.
However, now that the April and May attempt of JEE Main 2021 is uncertain, the JEE advanced timeline thus remains uncertain too. A final decision on the exam date of JEE Advanced 2021 will be taken in some time. Any changes in the exam date or other detail will be announced officially via JEE Advanced 2021 official website, jeeadv.ac.in.
Another challenge for conducting the JEE Advanced 2021 exam is that Almost all the State Boards along with CBSE and CISCE have at present postponed their board examinations. With no new date in sight, the IIT Kharagpur would also have to ensure that there is no clash, as and when they are announced. Passing Class 12 Board Examinations is also a prerequisite for admissions to the IITs.
Candidates who qualify in JEE Main 2021, as well as those who missed JEE Advanced 2020 due to COVID, can appear in the JEE Advanced 2021. Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) is the engineering entrance exam for admission to B.Tech program at IITs.
The conducting body of JEE Main 2021, which is the National Testing Agency (NTA) has notified that they will announce the new exam date at least 15 days before the conduct of exams.
The third phase (April) of JEE Mains was scheduled to be held on 27, 28, 29, and 30 April 2021 and the final one was to be held from 24 – 28 May 2021.
It has been officially announced that this year too, like the previous year, 75% criteria will not be applicable in JEE Advanced 2021 that is no minimum marks in class 12 is applicable for admission in the B.Tech courses offered in the IITs.
