JEE Advanced registrations have begun on September 15, 2021, and will end on September 20, 2021, up to 23.59 pm. The entrance exam is strictly for all those candidates who have successfully cleared JEE Main 2020/2021 with high marks. The application forms of JEE Advanced 2021 are available on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. As per the official schedule, the JEE Advanced exam is going to be held on October 03, 2021.
However, candidates who are aspiring for the JEE Advanced application form are confused regarding the declaration in lieu of obc-ncl (OBC -Non-Creamy Layer)certificate. This certificate is strictly for those candidates who belong to the OBC-NCL category and wish to avail the relaxation benefits in the JEE Advanced exam. The format of the aforesaid certificate as prescribed for the OBC- NCL candidates is available on the official portal.
The candidates have to fill and affix it with the JEE Advanced application form as a token of request to appear in the exam. Post submitting this, the candidates will be at least eligible to write the examination on the scheduled date.
A lot of students are confused as to why should they agree to this certificate? This is because, according to the rules, candidates who belong to this category have to submit an OBC-NCL certificate as issued on or after April 01, 2021, with the application form. However, this year citing a lot of factors, there have been delays in the procurement of these certificates. Hence, to help the students in availing the benefits, the authorities have issued this in lieu of obc-ncl certificate.
The certificate states that the candidate has to submit the original category certificate by October 02, 2021, up to 5 pm. On failing to do so, they will not be eligible for the OBC-NCL benefit. This means, that the categorial status of the candidates will be equivalent to a general category student only.
