IIT Kharagpur is all set to conduct the JEE Advanced 2021 exam on October 3, 2021. As the date of the exam is approaching, candidates must know what common mistakes they should avoid to excel in the entrance test. JEE Advanced is a national-level examination for admission to IITs (The Indian Institute of Technology) all over India. Engineering aspirants chase a dream to crack JEE Advanced and live the life of an IITian. The competition level is very high and that is the reason one must work through their weaknesses and highlight the common mistakes most people make.
Among lakhs of candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2021, it is very common to see that most people panic only with the thought of failing the exam. We suggest that instead of thinking of failure one should give their 100% to clear the exam. Another very common mistake is covering new topics instead of revising the old ones, a few days before the exam, which should be avoided.
Candidates also make the mistake of giving too many mock tests every day and therefore fail to revise their previously learned topics. Try to make a balance between solving mock tests and doing proper revision. Maintaining health is very important. JEE Advanced paper can be very exhausting as the questions are often very technical and conceptual. Take proper sleep and save energy instead of draining it by over-stressing. Do not take JEE Advanced lightly. Candidates might’ve cracked JEE Mains but JEE Advanced is nothing similar and much tougher.
All of us are very well aware that there are negative markings for every wrong answer. So, candidates must never guess their answers and only mark them if they are fully sure. Guessing answers wrongly might lead to the negative marking rather than adding the score.
Silly mistakes come from individuals who get overconfident and refuse to solve the question on paper first. Most candidates make this mistake. Solving the question on paper first is very crucial. There are many minute details involving signs that can make a huge difference in the answers if not properly done. Writing it down in a paper can resolve such mistakes.
Never miss out on the units mentioned in the questions. Take your time and read them thoroughly. Units are among the most important parts of your answers and the options given might have the magnitude same but units different. So, reading out the units while solving a question is equally important as any other part of it.
Time is money when appearing for the JEE Advanced exam. One has to maintain the same pace while solving all questions. Do not waste time brainstorming a single question for longer than 5 minutes. Attempt all the questions that are known first including all the sections given. Then, move on to the lesser difficult ones that need a little time to solve. Lastly, go for questions that are completely unknown and give them a try as well. This way one can solve all the questions that are known by them managing their time and speed equally.
