Naval Dockyard, Mumbai has invited applications from ITI qualified candidates for recruiting them under designated and non-designated posts. A total of 1233 vacancies will be filled through the recruitment drive, out of which 933 posts have been declared for designated trade and 300 for non-designated. The interested candidates should be aware of the eligibility criteria to apply for Mumbai Naval Dockyard recruitment. Essential qualifications required for the post includes that an applicant should secure 50 % in 10th exam and 65% in ITI exam recognized by NCVT. Qualification for candidates who are to be enrolled for rigger and crane operator as ‘Fresher’ should be a 8th pass.
Besides the educational qualification, there is a criteria for age as well. Applicants born between April 1, 1999 to March 31, 2006 will be considered suitable for the post. The upper age is relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST candidates and 2 years for wards of defence employees or naval civilians.
In a bid to fill the application form, the eligible candidates are required to log on to bhartiseva.com and search for non-designated trades (OT-03) and designated trades (IT-23). Then they have to upload documents of SSC / matriculation, 8th marksheet (if applicable), ITI marksheet, community certificate, physical disability certificate, ex-servicemen certificate (if applicable), aadhaar card / pan card / passport and photograph of the candidate. These documents are to be duly scanned in color in a A4 size pdf format.
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be called for written examination which will be held at Mumbai. The date of the exam and venue of the exam is yet to be announced. The exam will be of a 2 hours duration comprising 100 MCQs on general science, general knowledge and mathematics.
Those who qualify the written exam, will have to appear for Interview / skill test which is going to take place in January 2020. Thereafter, a final merit list will be prepared combining the scores obtained in the written exam and interview.
Before being engaged as an apprentice, every candidate will be medically examined and declared fit by a government hospital. The fit ones will be selected for a 1 year training at Dockyard Apprentice School. During the training, the apprentices will be entitled for a free medical treatment by Naval Dockyard Dispensary.
However, the candidates should note that it is not obligatory on the part of Naval Dockyard in regards to employment to any apprentice. On completion of the apprenticeship training, candidates would be eligible for recruitment as tradesman skilled.
