The ISC semester 1 Commerce examination for class 12th concluded today, dated December 10, 2021. The examination was administered by the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) at various affiliated schools across the country. The theory-based Commerce examination was held for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm in offline pen-paper based mode. According to the updated system for the board exams this session, only MCQ-based questions were asked in the ISC semester 1 Commerce exam. A total of 64 questions were to be answered in an hour and a half for 80 marks.
Due to the objective nature of the paper, unofficial answer keys are expected by students soon after the examination. These answer keys are not released by CISCE and are known to be unofficial indeed. Although there are 90% chances that the answer keys released by several educators online match with the official answer key released by the board. Few perspective-based answers may differ, otherwise, theory-based questions are likely to be correct in the unofficial answer key. Applicants can get access to the answer key online through various social media platforms. Students can go through these answer keys to get an idea about their performance in the examination.

Students can hope for the official answer keys for all the subjects soon after the semester gets over. Answer keys will be probably delivered in PDF format on the official site at cisce.org. However, this process will require a couple of days to be completed. Until then, students can analyze their performance by visiting the links mentioned above. The marking scheme prescribed by the CISCE, 1 mark for the correct answer, and no negative marks for wrong answers can be used to calculate the tentative marks scored in the examination. The questions asked in the Commerce examination were all framed from the revised syllabus provided by the CISCE. Students who solved the Commerce specimen paper for semester 1 found it much easier to attempt the questions in the examination.
As per the 2021-22 bifurcated syllabus, today’s Commerce paper covered the following chapters as a part of the 50% syllabus scheduled for the Semester 1 exam: Business Environment, Financing, and Management. Students interested in solving the question paper on their own can do so by referring to the above-mentioned chapters from their class 12 commerce textbooks. The questions asked in today’s examination were mostly theory-based questions with a few logical ones. The last 4 questions were case study-based questions, where each question was further subdivided into 5 sub-questions. However, all of them were centered around the ISC syllabus and exam pattern where each question/subpart of a question carried 1 mark.
