Council for the Indian School of Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has issued a public notice announcing the postponement of the Class 12 Mathematics paper. The Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 12 Mathematics was scheduled to be conducted on Monday, November 29, 2021. However, the exam has now been shifted to December 12, 2021. Although the date has changed, the timings will remain the same. This change in schedule was clearly implied through the public notice. Here’s all a candidate needs to know –
As per the ISC Semester I schedule, the Mathematics paper was slated for November 29, 2021. The paper was to be held in the objective-based pen-and-paper format from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. However, just three days prior to the exam, CISCE released a public notice announcing the postponement. Curiously enough, the reasons cited for postponement are those beyond the council’s control. This clearly does not provide any incite about the exact reason for postponement.
Surprisingly, students were not thrilled after hearing this decision. Mathematics is a tricky and difficult subject for most students. So, any extra preparation time, in this case 13 days, will benefit students. However, teachers and students are of the opinion that this change would hamper with the overall ISC Class 12 term I exam schedule.
A few Christian students were quick to raise their opinions about the postponement of Class 12 Mathematics exam. According to them, an exam on Sunday would clash with their prayers and Church rituals. Moreover, the Chemistry exam is scheduled soon right after, on November 13, 2021. This will give barely anytime to students to prepare for the second subject.
Most students are unhappy about CICSE’s latest decision as it will disturb their study plan. They were currently in the midst of preparing for one of the toughest subjects in Class 12 when this last-minute change was announced. Moreover, students are also perturbed by the lack of reasoning supporting this major change.
Will CISCE reschedule the Chemistry exam as well? If yes, then the entire ISC Class 12 Term I schedule will get hampered, as already predicted by some teachers and students. If not, then candidates will have a hard time preparing for the Chemistry exam and scoring well. Both these repercussions are not favorable for students. Hence, CICSE’s will have to think more carefully while making their next step while ensuring that students’ performance is not hampered.
To deal with this sudden change of exam dates, ISC Class 12 candidates must continue to prepare in full swing and not deter from their goals. These last-minute changes rarely occur but they do happen, owing to valid reasons. Hence, instead of losing focus, candidates must start afresh and concentrate on the upcoming exam.
