All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is scheduled to end the registration process today, June 02, 2021, at 5:00 pm, for the Institute of National Importance Common Entrance Test (INI CET) 2021. Candidates who are eligible to apply for postgraduate courses under the Karnataka category can do so on the official website aiimsexams.ac.in. Once the registration process is over, authorities are scheduled to release the INI CET 2021 admit cards on the official website on June 09, 2021. Thereafter, the PG medical entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
AIIMS authorities released a notice on May 27, 2021, announcing the revised schedule for INI CET 2021. Accordingly, the exam registration process was reopened on the official website aiimsexams.ac.in. Candidates who were eligible to apply for the Sponsored seat under Karnataka Domicile could do so from May 27 to June 02, 2021, up to 5:00 pm. There are 2 sponsored seats, 1 for Psychiatry and 1 for Psychiatry (under Karnataka Domicile Category) at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. However, this option was only open to candidates who had already entered their basic candidate information and wished to apply for the sponsored seat.
Along with this, candidates who had paid the registration fee but did not fill the city choice by May 18, 2021, could do so on or before June 02, 2021, up to 5:00 pm. They are to complete the remaining formalities i.e., Step-7 of city choice and Step-8 of printing the application form, by today. Candidates must note that after the prescribed deadline, this facility shall not be provided again. Moreover, candidates who don’t complete these steps shall not be issued the INI CET 2021 admit cards. AIIMS shall not be entertaining any requests in this regard.
Previously, the INI CET 2021 admit cards were scheduled to release on April 30, 2021. However, the entrance exam, which was scheduled for May 08, 2021, got postponed to June 16, 2021, due to the COVID19 pandemic. Therefore, registered candidates shall now be issued their admit cards from June 09, 2021. Even the last date to submit the No Objection Certificate has been rescheduled from May 08 to June 16, 2021, up to 5:00 pm. Furthermore, the last date to upload the scanned copy of Sponsored Certificate has been changed from May 08 to June 16, 2021, up to 5:00 pm.
While AIIMS had recently published the INI CET 2021 revised schedule, it created serious confusion and worry among students. Some of the INI CET aspirants are serving as COVID warriors or functioning as frontline workers. Appearing for exams under such conditions shall be extremely difficult for some students.
The Prime Minister’s Office had announced the postponement of the NEET PG 2021 examination by four months. This decision was taken to deal with two problems – the second wave of COVID19 and the scarcity of medical professionals. Invariably, INI CET aspirants assumed that AIIMS would also comply with this decision. However, AIIMS went onto announcing the revised schedule, compelling a large chunk of final-year MBBS students and INI CET aspirants to raise their concerns on social media.
