The Indian Coast Guard has released a latest recruitment notification to fill up 350 vacancies for Navik and Yantrik posts on the website joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in. The vacancies are available for the posts of Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch) and Yantrik 01/2022 batch. As per the official advertisement, online applications are invited from eligible candidates starting from July 02, 2021 on the aforementioned website. The last date to apply online is July 16, 2021.
The Coast Guard has notified that only male, Indian candidates are eligible to apply for this recruitment. For Navik (GD) and Yantrik posts, applicants must be born between February 01, 2000, and January 31, 2004. On the other hand, for the post of Navik (Domestic Branch), applicants must be born between April 01, 2000, and March 31, 2004.
Applicants must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics from a COBSE recognized institute in order to apply for Navik (General Duty) post while for the Navik (Domestic Branch), applicants must have passed Class 10 from a COBSE recognized institute.
For the post of Yantrik, applicants must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board and hold an AICTE approved 03/04 years Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering. Whereas, those who have passed Class 10 & Class 12 from a recognized Board and also have a Diploma of 02/03 years in the aforementioned branches are also eligible to apply for the Yantrik post.
The detailed vacancy bifurcation has been notified by the Coast Guard in the official advertisement. Among the 350 vacancies, 260 are available for the post of Navik (General Duty) and 50 for Navik (Domestic Branch). The rest of the vacancies are available for the posts of Yantrik – Mechanical (20), Yantrik – Electrical (13), and Yantrik – Electronics (07). The complete selection process is divided into four distinct stages before final recruitment into the Indian Coast Guard. The first stage is the written examination to be conducted as per schedule and exam pattern specified by the Coast Guard in the advertisement. The written exam syllabus has been specified by the Coast Guard and it will be based on Class 10 for Section I, Class 12 for Section II, Diploma level for Sections III, IV and V.
Qualifiers of the first stage online CBTs can appear in Stage II, including Physical Fitness Test, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Candidates must pass this stage to appear in Stage III. Stage III includes document verification, final medical exam at INS Chilka and submission of original documents, police verification and other forms. Qualifiers will be sent for training at INS Chilka before final recruitment.
