The Indian Coast Guard has released the application form for the Yantrik and Navik posts at the official website i.e joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in.Total 350 vacancies are announced by the authorities, though the total number of vacancies is tentative and might change based on the training slots availability. The online applications for these two posts will be accepted from July 02 to July 16 2021, till 6.00 pm.
The eligibility criteria for Indian coast guard recruitment require the candidates to be aged between 18 years to 22 years. For the post of Navik recruitment, the aspiring candidates should have been born between February 01, 2000, to January 31, 2004. Similarly, the case of Navik (DB) should have been born between April 01, 2000, and March 31, 2004. However, there are 5 years of upper age relaxation for the SC/ST candidates and 3 years of OBC candidates.
Moreover, the educational qualification of the candidates should be 10+2 passed with subjects like maths and physics in the case of Navik ( GD) and 10th class pass for the Navik ( DB). And the educational eligibility in the case of Yantrik is 10th passed with Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Telecommunication (Power/Radio)/ Electronics engineering of duration between 3 -4 years course approved by All India Council of Technical Education ( AICTE). Once the candidates clear all the stages of the selection process they will be entitled to get a pay scale of INR 25,000 to INR 28,000 as an in-hand salary in the case of Navik officers. Whereas, the Yantrik officers will be entitled to get INR 35,000 to INR 37,000 as in-hand salary during their tenure of service.
The candidates have to log in to the website and follow the instructions given there to register themselves with their mobile number or email address. They need to ensure the validity of their mobile number and email address till June 30, 2022. Similarly, while filling online application form the candidates are required to fill for only one post like Navik ( GD), or Navik (DB), Yantrik (Electronics), or Yantrik ( Electrical) or Yantrik ( Mechanical). For the candidates who fill the form for more than one post, their candidature will be canceled.
The selection of the candidates will be based on All India order of merit on their performance basis in four different stages like stage I, II, III, IV, and also on the total number of available vacancies. For the compulsory recruitment in the Indian Coast Guard, the candidates are required to successfully complete all the four stages of the selection process along with satisfactory performance in training. During the four different stages of selection i.e stage I, II, III, and IV the candidates have to go through a photo identification process, document verification, and biometric test.
The candidates are required to select five examination centers in stage I of the online application process, and the first center should be within a 30-kilometer radius, if not then the next nearest center should be the first choice for the candidates as examination center. The expected schedule of the examination for the post of Navik and Yantrik is also announced by the Indian Coast Guard. Stage I examination is scheduled to be conducted in the month of September 2021.
