Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram is inviting applications for recruitment the post of Assistant Professor (Grade 1). Eligible Indian citizens are invited to fill up and submit the online application form which is available at the official website i.e. iisertvm.ac.in. IISER is inviting applications from candidates who are eligible as per the conditions prescribed in the official notification. As per the notice, candidates having a Ph.D. qualification along with a first-class or equivalent preceding degree in a relevant discipline are eligible to apply for the recruitment. Alongside, candidates also need a minimum experience of 03 years in the areas of Industrial, Research, or Teaching excluding the duration of the Ph. D qualification. The maximum permissible age of the applicants is 35 years.
Selected candidates are appointed to the post of Assistant Professor at the specified remuneration. Appointed candidates are entitled to receive a monthly salary at the Grade I Level 12 Cell 1. At this level, candidates are entitled to the minimum basic pay of Rs 1,01,500 in addition to House Rent Allowance, Travel Allowance, Pension Benefits under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) of the Government of India.
IISER Thiruvananthapuram has indicated a complete list of subject areas of expertise. Eligible candidates must have expertise in any of the subject areas in order to apply. In the discipline of Biology, the available subject areas are Structural Biology, Neurobiology, Infectious diseases, Virology, Computational Biology, Metabolism in Health & Disease, Human Genetics, and Microbiome. In the wider discipline, candidates must have expertise in any of the areas among Synthetic Polymer Chemistry, Magnetic Materials and Transport Properties, Chemical Biology/Biomaterials, Atmospheric Chemistry, Machine Learning/AI/Big Data in Chemistry, Biorganic/Biophysical/Bioinorganic Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Statistical Mechanics or Neurochemistry. candidates from a Data Science background must have expertise in Machine Learning, AI, High-Performance Computing, Databases/Data Mining, and background in Computer Science. Candidates can also have Data Science expertise with a specialization in applied statistics if they are from a Mathematics/Statistics background.
Candidates from Mathematics background must have expertise in any of the subjects among Statistics, Probability & Applied Probability, Optimization, Geometry and Topology & Computational Topology, Algebra, Analysis, Graph Theory & Combinatorics, Number theory and Cryptography. Those who have a background in Physics must have an expertise in Quantum Technologies, Fluid Dynamics & Atmospheric Physics, Astronomy and Astro Physics, Materials Modelling.
