CAT 2020 admit card will be out today. Candidates who have registered for the exam and will take the exam on November 29, 2020, must ensure that they download their admit card. Admit card with all required documents is to be taken on the exam day at the allotted exam center to be able to appear for the test. All candidates have to take the printed copy of the CAT admit card with them with a valid photo id proof that is original and non expired.
PWD candidates, on the other hand, have to carry some added documents with them and have to follow some instruction at the center. The lists of instruction for the Person with disability (PWD) for the CAT 2020 exam are as follows:
#1. Who falls under the PwD category: As per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016), “Person with benchmark disability” means a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified disability. According to the government rules and regulation, the PWD candidates can carry the testing assistive devices to the CAT 2020 test center which include Abacus (without a calculator), Hearing Aid, Wheel Chair, Magnifying Screen. Apart from this, they can choose the facility of a scribe in the CAT 2020 exam.
#2. Scribe facility for PwD candidates: PWD candidates with disabilities like Visually Impairment, Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, and other disabilities are allowed scribe /readers. They have to arrange their own scribe for CAT 2020 exam. There are no eligibility criteria for the scribe. PwD candidates need to carry Scribe Affidavit with the admit card and ID proof on the exam day.
#3. What the scribe needs to carry on the exam day: On the day of the test, the scribe must bring a valid proof of identity and a passport-sized photograph, and sign a declaration about his / her educational qualifications at the test venue.
#4. Extra time for PwD candidates to complete the exam: According to the CAT 2020 Instructions for the scribe, the time extension of 20 minutes per hour, which comes to a total extension of 40 minutes for a 2-hour test is given to the PWD candidate. These 40 minutes are distributed equally among the three sections for the CAT 2020 examination. The scribe has to be arranged by the applicant only and they need to carry the Scribe Affidavit available on the CAT website. They should also have a valid proof of identity and a passport sized photograph, and sign a declaration about his / her educational qualifications at the test venue.
#5. Testing assistance for the PwD candidates: The PWD candidates are allowed to bring technical aids with them at the exam hall. Some of this Testing Assistance (TA) is provided to the candidates by the authorities at the center, however, some have to be arranged by the candidates. Like the Abacus (without a calculator) must be arranged by the candidates who are visually impaired and the Hearing Aid must be arranged by the candidates too, who have a hearing impairment. Wheel Chair is arranged by the exam center authorities for candidates with Locomotor Disability / Cerebral Palsy if it has been requested in the online application form. Similarly, magnifying screen is enabled on the system of the candidates who have a visual impairment, if requested via the online CAT 2020 application form.
CAT 2020 is held in the computer-based mode. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes. It is held in the English language only. There are a total of 100 questions in the CAT 2020 exam, the type of questions are multiple-choice type and type in the answers type questions. The CAT 2020 question paper is divided into three sections which are Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability.
