It was expected that ICAR Result 2018 will be announced on August 30, 2018. However, after a long day of waiting, there is no notification in sight on any of the official websites. Two probable reaons stand out for this apparent delay in result. First points out at this being a simple case of delay as ICAR mentions in its re-exam notice that declaration of result will be on or after August 30, 2018. Second line of thought point out to Kerala High Court stay on results to be a probable reason.
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) had set out to change the face of AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission) by conducting an online exam for admission 2018-19. However no sooner was the exam conducted on June 22 and 23, 2018, reports of technical glitches surfaced. Shortly thereafter, a notice was published that the 23rd ICAR AIEEA UG/PG/SRF held in June was cancelled and re-exam was scheduled on August 18 and 19, 2018. Unfortunately, this too was not spared from issues.
Whereas this time, in August, ICAR conducted the exams in offline mode as before, the issue was conduct of exam in Kerala during floods. As the state reeled under the dire situation that the floods brought, ICAR conducted its exams. A writ petition was filed by two candidates namely Amal C T and Adarsh C K, who plead that they could not appear for the exam due to flood.
It was stated in their petition that as per admit cards issued by ICAR, they had been allotted centres in Kozhikode. When floods struck Kerala from August 15, 2018, several requests were forwarded to the Minister of Agriculture to postpone ICAR 2018 re-exam. It is reported that the Minister had issued directions to carry out postponement of exam in light of the situation.
Instead, the exam conducting body changed the exam centre of candidates to Kochi. Many candidates did not either become aware of it, being stranded in relief camps or such places, and many got to know of it too late. Thus several candidates could not attend the exam they had been preparing for so long.
It is reported that the Kochi centre saw a footfall of only 40% candidates.
With this situation having unfolded, petitioners requested re-conduct of exam. An interim order to withhold ICAR re exam 2018 result was also put forth. On August 21, 2018, it was reported that the ICAR result 2018 will be withheld for 3 weeks.
If the result stays on hold for 3 weeks counting from the day of report, then it will be announced on or after September 11, 2018. However this is mere conjecture based on reports and only ICAR is in a position to throw light upon declaration of result.
Not getting ahead of ourselves, it is worthy to note that the ICAR 2018 re-exam notification merely states that result will be announced on or after August 30, 2018. Since the term on or after was used, it can also be extrapolated that perhaps this is a simple delay in result. Or perhaps even be announced in a short while as per decision of ICAR.
However if there is a stay in place, that is resulting in delay of ICAR Result 2018, then candidates may have to wait for quite some time.
Declaration of result of ICAR AIEEA UG/PG/SRF 2018 re-exam will be done at official websites icar.org.in and icarexam.net. Previously active website aieea.net is unlikely to host result as that was for now-stands-cancelled CBT exam.
Through ICAR AIEEA UG exam, candidates get admission to B.Sc (hons) Forestry, Horticulture, Community Science, Sericulture, Agriculture; B.Tech Agricultural engineering, BFSC; B.Tech Food Technology, Bio Technology, Dairy Science; Food Nutrition and Dietetics.
Whereas on basis of results of ICAR AIEEA PG 2018, candidates will get admission to post graduate programs in plant biotechnology, plant sciences, physical science, entomology and nematology, agronomy, social sciences, statistical sciences, horticulture, forestry / agroforestry and siviculture, agricultural engineering and technology, water science and technology, home science, animal biotechnology, veterinary sciences, animal sciences, fisheries science, dairy science, dairy technology, food science technology, agri business management.
