ICAR National Research Centre for Banana, Tamil Nadu is inviting applications from eligible individuals to fill up vacancies for the posts of Senior Research Fellow and Young Professional-I. ICAR NRCB has published an official recruitment notification in this regard at the website ncrb.res.in. Accordingly, 2 vacancies have been notified which are to be filled up on a contractual basis. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to apply for the recruitment on the prescribed proforma before the last date. The last date of receipt of applications is September 15, 2020, on or before 04.30 PM.
As per the recruitment notification released by the Institute, one vacancy each is available for the posts of Senior Research Fellow and Young Professional-I. The vacancies are available under the ICAR Extramural Research Project at Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. Eligible candidates appointed to the aforementioned posts will be serving for a contractual period till the completion of the project, During the tenure of employment, SRFs are entitled to receive monthly salary of Rs 31000 along with 16% HRA. On the other hand, Young Professionals are entitled to receive Rs 15000 consolidated monthly payment.
Applicants must fulfil the specified minimum conditions in order to apply for the recruitment. For the post of Senior Research Fellow, male candidates must be within the maximum age of 35 years while female candidates must be within the age of 40 years. On the other hand for the post of Young Professional-I, candidates must be at least 21 years of age and not more than 45 years of age. However, relaxations in the upper age will be applicable as per rules.
Candidates having a first class degree of M.Tech in Instrumentation Chemical Engineering with B.Tech in Chemical/Instrumentation Engineering are eligible to apply for the post of SRF. Those who have an M.Tech in Agricultural Engineering or M.Sc. in Horticulture or an equivalent degree are also eligible to apply. Desirable experience, knowledge and other conditions can be checked from the official notification. On the other hand, candidates willing to apply for the post of Young Professional must have a B.Sc. in Agriculture/Horticulture and desirably, knowledge on banana cultivation and post harvest handling.
Selection of the eligible applicants will be initially done through screening of all the received applications. Shortlisted candidates are to be communicated with regarding the date, time and mode of interview through email. Therefore, one must take care to furnish the correct email id on the application form. Candidates must note that the recruitment is for a temporary basis and they cannot claim any permanent employment after the completion of the contract term.
