Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) has released notification for admission 2021-22. The admission notice is available on the official website himtu.ac.in. Accordingly, the Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) 2021 online registration process shall begin tomorrow, June 23, 2021. Interested candidates can register for the state-level admission test on or before July 20, 2021. While the registration schedule has been clearly informed, the HPCET 2021 entrance test date is yet to be announced.
According to the admission notice, HPTU welcomes online applications for a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the university. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the respective courses by filling the online application form. This form shall be made available on the university’s official website himtu.ac.in. The pre-condition to apply for the course is that candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria cited by the university.
HPTU offers a number of different courses and programmes to eligible students. The undergraduate programmes include B.Tech. (Direct Entry and Lateral Entry), B.Pharm. (Direct Entry and Lateral Entry), B.Pharm. (Ayurveda), B.Arch., BBA, BCA, BSc. and HMCT or BHMCT. The postgraduate courses include MBA or MBA (T&HM), MCA, M.Tech., M.Pharm., M.Sc. in Phyisc, M.Sc. in Environmental Science. Additionally, the university also offers postgraduate diploma course in Yoga. This course shall be conducted in two sessions – Morning and Evening.
Authorities have also mentioned the mode of admission along with the selection process for admissions. In case of Direct Entry, candidates shall be shortlisted based on their merit rank in the HPCET 2021 examination. Moreover, their performance in the qualifying exam will also be taken into consideration. Similarly, in case of Lateral Entry, candidates will be selected based on their merit rank in diploma or qualifying examination. However, to apply for this admission process, candidates have to complete all the registration formalities on himtu.ac.in within the stipulated deadline.
The information and admission brochures for the HPCET 2021 examination are yet to be published on the official website. Hence, the exact paper pattern and marking scheme for the entrance test is not known. However, based on the 2019 paper pattern, HPCET shall contain all objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). In the case of courses like B. Tech./B. Pharmacy/B. Pharmacy (Ayurveda)/ M. Tech./ M. Pharmacy/MBA/MBA(T&HM)/MCA, each correct answer will be awarded 2 marks .5 marks shall be deducted for every wrong answer.
In the case of BBA/BCA/BHMCT/B.Sc. HMCT/M.Sc. Physics/ M.Sc. Environment Science courses, each correct answer shall be awarded 1 mark while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates are permitted to skip the questions but must choose only one option as the answer to each question.
