Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) is recruiting matric pass candidates with an ITI certificate to fill up 1892 vacancies on a contractual basis. Applications for the 1500 posts of Junior T/Mates and 392 posts of Junior Helper (Sub-Station) can be sent by post on the prescribed proforma published by HPSEBL at the official website hpsebl.in. The last date of receipt of applications at the offices of HPSEBL across three different zones is July 20, 2020. However, for candidates residing in specified remote areas of Himachal, the last date is August 04, 2020. These areas include districts of Lahaul & Spiti, Kinnaur, Pangi & Bharmour subdivision of Chamba district and Dodra Kwar sub-division of Shimla district. Selected candidates will now be an appointment at a monthly fixed remuneration of Rs 8150 compared to the earlier announced amount of Rs 7825.
Earlier in March 2020 HPSEBL withdraw this recruitment event due to COVID-19. However, now through new advertisement number 02/2020 released dated 04-06-2020, matric pass candidates are invited to apply for the aforementioned posts. The vacancies are bifurcated across different categories such as General (UR/ESM/Sports/WFF), OBC (UR/BPL/ANT/ESM), SC(UR/ANT/BPL/WFF/ESM) and ST(UR/BPL/ANT/ESM) and EWS(UR) for both types of post. Besides passing the matriculation exam, the candidates must desirably possess an ITI certificate in Wireman/Electrician or the National Trade Certificate of one year Broad Based Basic Training. In addition one must have Advanced Modular Course of initial 6 months of the second year plus specialized module of 6 months in the second year in the Electrical sector through COE. One must also be within the age range of 18 to 30 years although specific relaxations are applicable to the upper age limit as per government norms.
Those who wish to apply for the recruitment must first download the proforma from the official website i.e. hpseb.in. A fee of Rs 100/- is payable by unreserved candidates although reserved candidates can pay Rs 50/- while female candidates are completely exempted from the payment of the application fee. Once the fee is paid either through a bank draft or postal order, the application forms can be submitted by postal means. The fee must be deposited in favor of Accounts Officer (Banking), HPSEBL, Vidyut Bhawan, Shimla. Candidates can also deposit the fee through RTGS/NEFT/IMPS.
Before submitting the application, candidates must check that all information furnished is correct as self-attested supporting documents must also be enclosed. Such documents include educational certificates, caste certificates, and a copy of Aadhar Card. One must not forget to attach a recent passport-sized photograph on the proforma. All documents included the proforma should be sent in one envelope address to the Chief Engineer (Operation) in the concerned zone.
HPSEBL will evaluate and select candidates for appointment based on specified parameters that carry a total of 100 marks. Merit as per matriculation result carries 60 marks while the possession of technical training certificate as specified carries another 25 marks. 15 marks are awarded on the basis of other criteria such as Backward Area/Panchayat residents, landless family, non-employment certificate holder, more than 40% disability, and NSS/NCC certificate. The Board will not conduct an interview, however, a final document verification process will be staged before the final appointment.
