The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has declared the results of class 10 on July 5, 2021. The HPBOSE class 10th result is prepared on the basis of an alternative assessment method, defined by the board after the cancellation of Class 10th exams. The students who registered for class 10th exams can check their marks statement from the official website of the board.
To check the result candidates have to go to the website of the HPBOSE- hpbose.org. Then they have to click on the “Results” tab present on the homepage. After that, they have to click on the relevant link and add their roll numbers and then have to click on the search button. As soon as the search button is pressed the result will appear on the screen. Candidates are advised to take the print of it for a record.

HP board has not declared the merit list for class 10 as some students were unable to appear for the Hindi paper. Hence, it has been decided to conduct special exams for these students who missed the Hindi paper on April 13. The exam is scheduled to be held on July 12, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Board’s Headquarters, Dharamshala. The merit list will then be declared after the result of the Hindi exam is announced. As per assessment scheme released, the marks as obtained in Annual Hindi paper were taken as a result declaration component. The students who could not appear for the exam need to submit a Covid-19 positive report dated April 13.
As many as 1,16,954 students had registered for the Himachal Pradesh board class 10th exams 2021. Out of which 99.7 per cent successfully passed the class X examination. Whereas, only 0.3 per cent of students fail to clear HPBoSE Class 10th. The pass percentage this year has improved in comparison to previous years that has been recorded to be 99.7 per cent. A total of 10,015 students have got 90-100 marks this year.
Accordingly, their class 10th result for 2021 has been prepared on the basis of an alternative assessment method, adopted by the board. The decision was taken after examinations for papers except for Hindi, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The students have been assessed out of a total of 100 marks for each subject.
The HPBOSE Class 10th regular and open school exams were scheduled to be held between April 13 to 28, 2021. On April 13, students had appeared in the first paper of the class 10 board exam for the Hindi subject. However, due to a surge in Covid-19 cases and a high positivity rate across the state, the rest of the exams were cancelled by the government. Later, the board was asked to promote the class 10 students to class 11 by preparing well-defined assessment criteria.
According to a statement from the board, the students who are not satisfied with their marks will stand a chance to appear for the improvement exams that will be conducted once the conditions become more feasible.

Last year, the class 10th examinations were held in the month of March, and their results were declared in the month of June. A total of 70,371 students passed the Class 10th board exams in 2020. Out of the total number of students who had appeared, 68.11 percent had passed. As many as 37 students bagged the top position in class 10th 2020 results. As a report submitted by the state board, it was an improvement in comparison to the performance in 2019 when the pass percentage was just 60.79 percent.
