Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has extended the last date to apply for the 2020 Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HP TET) exam. In an official press note published at the website of the Board on Thursday, the new extended date of submitting online applications for HP TET 2020 is indicated. In addition to the extension of the last date to apply, the Board has also modified the schedule to edit submitted applications. As per the notice, the last date to apply for HP TET 2020 has been extended from July 06, 2020, to July 10, 2020. Besides, applicants are also allowed to make changes to the submitted applications on July 11 and July 12, 2020. The notice can be downloaded from the website hpbose.org. The HPBOSE conducts the state’s TET exam to qualify eligible candidates to teach in different subjects in the school and elementary institutions of the state of Himachal Pradesh. The Board notified earlier in June 2020 regarding the conduct of the HP TET 2020 exam for which, the application process was scheduled to be conducted between June 16 to July 06, 2020. However, as per the notice, the last date has been officially extended by 04 days. In addition to this, the Board also announced previously that candidates will be allowed to edit the information provided in their applications between July 07 to 09, 2020. Instead, the newly scheduled dates of making form correction are July 11 and July 12, 2020. The official press notice has cited that the decision to extend the last date of submission of applications was taken in consideration of such requests received by the Board.
HPBOSE notified that the 2020 TET exam is going to be conducted for eight subjects this year. Candidates who qualify the exam in a subject of their choice from among JBT, TGT(Arts/Medical/Non-Medical), Language Teacher, Shastri, Punjabi, and Urdu are awarded the TET qualifying certificate. The certificate remains valid for up to 07 years from the date of the issue. The Board has specified the minimum eligibility conditions, selection process, and other terms and conditions of the 2020 HP TET exam. However, candidates must note that the TET exam is not conducted for recruitment to any job. Instead, it is a certification exam where qualifying candidates are awarded the TET certificate, mandatory to apply for primary & elementary level teaching jobs in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Aspiring candidates who may have missed the application process before can therefore apply now to appear in the HP TET 2020 exam. Such candidates are advised to read the detailed information brochure carefully before applying. The applications for HP TET 2020 can be submitted at the official website i.e. hpbose.org till the last date of extension. The applicable fees is Rs 800 for General candidates and Rs 500 for SC/ST, OBC and PWD candidates. The Board issued admit cards to the eligible candidates to appear in the offline exam, which is held across multiple centers in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
