Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL) is inviting online applications for the post of Assistant Manager, Overman, Mining Sirdar, Colliery Engineer, Electrical Foreman/ Supervisor and Electrician. As per the advertisement, GPCL is looking for 37 suitable candidates to fill these vacant posts. All the eligible candidates are suggested to submit their applications for the said posts on or before the last date that is October 31, 2020. GPCL has announced the recruitment to these posts on a contractual basis. Out of the total announced vacancies 02 are advertised for Assistant Manager (1st class), 07 for Assistant Manager (2nd class), 10 for Overman, 12 for Mining Sirdar, 02 for Colliery Engineer, 02 for Electrical Foreman/ Supervisor and 02 for Electrician post. Suitable candidates are appointed for Ghogha Surkha Lignite Mining Project, Bhavnagar.
Candidates can submit their GPCL recruitment application by visiting the official website, gpcl.gujarat.gov.in. Application fee amounting to Rs. 590/- should be paid by General category candidates and Rs. 236/- by SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS category candidates. Those who claim to be from SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS category have to upload caste/ category certificates while filling the application form. Moreover, a candidate can apply for only one post.
Before applying online, we suggest aspirants read the eligibility criteria as prescribed by GPCL. Candidates must possess a relevant certificate to apply for Assistant Manager (first and second class), Overman, Mining Sirdar post. Those who have degree certificate in Mechanical Engineering with 01-year experience can apply for Colliery Engineer. To apply for Electrical Foremen/ Supervisor, candidates must have a degree certificate in Electrical Engineering with Electrical Supervisor certificate. Applicants who have ITI in Electrical with wiremen certificate that is issued by authorising electricity licensing board can apply for Electrician post.
The age limit is another criterion that aspirants have to fulfil before applying. Applicant’s age should not be more than that of 50 years to apply for Assistant Manager (first and second class), Overman, Mining Sirdar and Colliery Engineer post. Whereas, the upper age limit for Electrical Foreman/ Supervisor is 45 years and 35 years for Electrician.
The selection of candidates is purely based on the merit list. First, GPCL will conduct a written examination for 100 marks. Candidates who appear for this online examination have to secure at least 40% marks (for all category). Thereafter, qualifying candidates for Assistant Manager post are called for the interview round. As per the notification, the interview round will take place for 20 marks. A final merit list for each post gets published on the GPCL website accordingly.
