How to find school index number?
While accessing the Goa Board class 12 2020 results, candidates have to enter their school index number. This number is has been provided to all recognised schools located within the state’s territory by the GBSHSE authorities. To find out the index number, candidates must visit the board’s official website. Thereafter, they must click on the “Click here for Goa Board Website”. Under the “Institutions” section, students must select the “Recognised Institutions” option. A list of schools shall appear on the screen.
To quicken their search for the index number, candidates can select various filers like taluka, institution type and area type. After locating the name of the school, candidates must check the code written next to the school’s name. This code is the index number which is to be entered while checking the Class 12 board exam results.
Confusion on whether result is announced or not
Like yesterday they did for HSSC results, GBSHSE had activated the link for the SSC or class 10 results also a day prior to the actual announcement. Students were left puzzled as the link was activated but didn’t display any results after submitting the login credentials. A day later, GBSHSE announced the class 10 results by issuing an official notice. The same sequence of events is happening in case of class 12 results as well. Thus, students are advised to check the official website gbshse.gov.in for the result notice rather than confusing themselves with various news reports.
This year, the Goa Board authorities could not conduct the Class 12 board exams for the academic year due to spike in the number of coronavirus cases. Therefore, to assess students, the board used the 30-30-40 formula devised by CBSE. According to this formula, 30% weightage was given to Class 10 performance, 30% weightage to Class 11 performance and the remaining 40% weightage to Class 12 performance. In case of Class 12, unit tests, mid-sems and pre-boards were considered for evaluation. All candidates who scored a minimum of 33% using this formula have been declared “passed” in
