India Post has announced the results of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment of two circles, Gujarat and Karnataka. Karnataka Postal Circle has selected 2625 candidates against 2637 vacancies. And the Gujarat Postal Circle has selected 2484 candidates against 2510 vacancies.
GDS result 2019 in the form of merit list with shortlisted candidates has been published at appost.in. Candidates can download each list from the results released section on the official website.
The result indicates division, HO name, BO name, post name, category, registration number, and name of selected candidate with percentage. Those who have been selected will now need to go for document verification and after that they will be finalized.

Karnataka postal circle recruitment 2019 notification as well as the Gujarat postal circle recruitment 2019 notification were published in the month of August this year. Applications were accepted from August 5 to an extended date of September 22, 2019. Now after 3 months, their results have been announced.
9126 more vacancies were advertised after that, for four circles namely AP, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Maharashtra. For the Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana circles, application form submission closed on November 21, 2019. Whereas for Maharashtra circle, the last date to apply was yesterday December 3, 2019.
If these circles follow a timeline similar to that of Karnataka and Gujarat, the GDS results for Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana are expected to be announced in February or March 2020, and that for Maharashtra circle is expected in March 2020.
Likewise, GDS result for Assam postal circle, Bihar postal circle, and Kerala postal circle are expected to be announced this month only, as their application form submission last date was September 11, 2019.
Until now, India Post has announced GDS results for Gujarat for 2510 vacancies, Karnataka for 2637 vacancies, Delhi for 174 vacancies, Himachal Pradesh for 757 vacancies, Jharkhand for 804 vacancies, Odisha for 4392 vacancies, and Tamilnadu for 4442 vacancies.
The postal circles for which India Post is yet to announce results are Assam for 919 vacancies, Bihar for 1063 vacancies, Kerala for 2086, Punjab for 851, Andhra Pradesh for 2707, Chhattisgarh for 1799, Telangana for 970, and Maharashtra for 3650 vacancies.
Gramin Dak Sevak posts are divided into two categories, BPM and ABPM / Dak Sevak. The minimum time related continuity allowance for 4 hours / level 1 in the TRCA slab for BPM is Rs 12,000, and for ABPM it is Rs 10,000. For 5 hours / level 2, it is Rs 14,500 for BPM and Rs 12,000 for ABPM. Candidates with class 10th pass qualification and knowledge of local language are eligible for these posts. Regarding local language requirement, APPOST says “the candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] as declared by the State Government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of Constitution of India”.
