IIT Madras to Begin GATE Exam 2019 Registration from Sep 1; Know How To Apply

The GATE 2019 Application Forms will be made available online from September 01, 2018. In 2019, Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT), Madras is conducting the GATE exam. The official website of GATE 2019, gate.iitm.ac.in, was made active earlier this month. As per the website, the last date to apply for GATE 2019 is September 21, 2018. However, even after the last date, candidates will be able to apply for the exam, but with a late fee of Rs. 500/-.

The application forms of GATE 2019 will be available in the online mode only. September 21, 2018, is the last date to apply without late fee and October 01, 2018 will be the last date to apply with the late fee. In addition to that, candidates will be also able to change their exam centres later on but before November 16, 2018. An extra amount will be charged in such situations.

To fill the online application form candidates will have to access the official website and click on the apply online link. This link will redirect them to the GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) which is currently inactive and will be activated on September 01, 2018.

GOAPS is inactive now. It will be activated on September 01, 2018.

Thereafter, candidates have to register using their Full Name, a valid e-mail address, mobile number and by choosing a password. Upon registration, an e-mail containing the GOAPS Enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate. Candidates must note this enrollment ID without fail. later using this enrollment id and password candidates can access GOAPS and complete the application form.

Candidates need to keep the documents handy that will be needed while filling the online application form. These documents include scanned images of passport sized photograph, signature, PwD/Caste/Dyslexic certificate if applicable.

The application process will end with the payment of the online application fee using net banking, credit/debit card. The amount to be paid is Rs. 750 for females of all category and for SC / ST / PwD category candidates. All other candidates have to pay Rs. 1500/-.

All those candidates who will complete the application form will be issued the GATE 2019 admit card on January 04, 2019. The GATE 2019 exam is scheduled to be held on February 02-03, 2019 and February 09-10, 2019.

This year, all the candidates preparing for GATE 2019, has been notified that GATE 2019 changes have been made. This includes the addition of a new subject paper – Statistics (ST). Thus in GATE 2019, there will be 24 subjects instead of 23 like previous years.

The syllabus of all the 24 subjects of GATE 2019, including the newly added statistics is available on the official website. Along with the syllabus, candidates are also to thoroughly read the eligibility criteria before filling the online application form.

    I have completed my MSc in microbiology, on the next web search i found that only B.E, B. Tech, or B. Pharma students can apply for gate exam. Can i also apply for gate exam as my degree is microbiology ,none of them???
