Only a month’s time is left for the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2022 examination. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur will be conducting the postgraduate engineering entrance exam on February 05, 06, 12, and 13, 2022. The test will be held in the computer-based format at selected centres across the country. The exam will be held for a total of 29 different Engineering branches, two of which were added this year i.e., Geomatics Engineering and Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering.
Candidates have around 30 days to revise the entire syllabus of their selected branch and solve enough mock tests to ace the GATE 2022 examination. Additionally, they must also ensure that no topic has been left untouched. So, knowing the syllabus thoroughly is crucial to qualifying for this national-level exam.
Those who have opted for the GATE 2022 Mechanical Engineering exam have to study 4 broad sections. These are –
Section 1: Engineering Mathematics
Section 2: Applied Mechanics and Design
Section 3: Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences
Section 4: Materials, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering
The four above-mentioned sections cover a range of topics that needs to be studied in-depth before the GATE 2022 examination. To access the entire Mechanical Engineering syllabus, candidates can access the link below:
In addition to understanding the entire syllabus, candidates must also refer to the previous years’ GATE 2022 Mechanical Engineering papers for revising the syllabus within a shorter duration. Of course, mock exams can do the trick. But previous-year papers will help a candidate gauge the important topics to study right before the exam. This is a short helpful trick to avoid wasting time on unimportant topics.
