GATE 2022 Registration Last Date and Time Today

Before submitting the GATE 2022 applications, please go through the eligibility criteria and other details as mentioned in the information brochure available on gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

GATE 2022 Registration

The registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE 2022, without a late fee, ends today, i.e. September 28, 2021. Interested candidates who haven’t filled up the application form can do so without further ado at gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

However, the closing date for the extended online registration/application process along with the late fee is October 01, 2021. The examination is all set to be conducted on February 05, 06, 12 and 13, 2022. Candidates after qualifying for this examination will be eligible to seek admission in masters and doctoral programmes in engineering and science subjects.

To submit the GATE 2022 application, first, visit the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in. Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button under the GATE 2022 online application tab. At this stage, complete the registration process by entering the candidate’s name, email ID, mobile number, etc. After successful registration, the enrollment ID and password will be generated. Use these credentials to log in and select the paper choices and examination cities. Enter personal details and mention the educational qualifications. After that, upload scanned copies of the required documents and pay the application fee.

The application fee for GATE 2022 is Rs 750 for female candidates, Rs 750 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates and Rs 1500 for all other candidates. In terms of eligibility criteria, candidates who have completed their government-approved degree in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce and arts are eligible to apply. However, the ones who are enrolled in the third or higher year of their undergraduate degree can also apply. The program-wise eligibility criteria are also laid down in the information brochure that can be downloaded from the official website.

Please note that the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in does not specify the closing time of GATE 2022 registration. Nevertheless, it is advisable to submit the applications as early as possible today. Defective applications which require rectification will be displayed on October 26, 2021. Candidates will also get time up to November 12, 2021, to change the category, paper and examination city of GATE 2022. However, for this, an additional fee will be applicable. The admit cards for the examination will be available to download on January 03, 2022.

The organizing institute for GATE 2022 is IIT Kharagpur. This time, two new papers namely Geometrics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) have been introduced. Candidates also have an option to opt for both papers at a time. Please note that the scorecard for GATE 2022 will also be valid for a period of three years, i.e. till 2025.
