Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is going to begin the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2022 registration process today, August 30, 2021. This process will take place through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). This system will be available on the official website gate.iitkgp.ac.in. Without the late fee, application process is open till September 24, 2021. However, from September 25 to October 01, 2021, candidates will have to certain late fee charges. As of now, the exam is scheduled on February 05, 06, 12 and 13, 2021, across the country through the computer-based mode.
To successfully apply for the GATE 2022 examination, there are three broad steps that candidates need to complete –
#1 Register and fill the application form
#2 Upload the required documents
#3 Pay the online application fee
The first step is to register for the GATE 2022 exam by filling in details such as full name, email address, phone number, and password. Upon successful registration, candidates will get their enrollment ID which they must use along with their chosen password to login to the GOAPS portal.
After logging-in, the next step of to fill the GATE 2022 application form. They must fill-in details such as personal information, address for communication, education details, preferred GATE subject(s), choice of exam cities, etc. candidates must make sure to fill these details carefully in the first attempt itself. Even though candidates are allowed to change their exam city and category, they will have to pay extra charges for it. To avoid them, it is better to choose the right city and category during the application process.
Once the application form is filled, aspirants have to upload certain important documents in the format and dimensions prescribed by the authorities. These documents include photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), disability certificate (if needed) during the GATE 2022 registration process.
The last step of the process is to pay the application fee depending on the category to which the candidate belongs. Female and SC, ST, PwD candidates have to pay Rs.750 while others must pay Rs.1500 as application fee. However, beyond September 24, 2021, Rs.500 extra must be paid along with the specified fee. The application fee can only be paid through the online mode and via any offline format.
Before submitting the application fee, candidates must carefully read and accept the declaration statement. And on submitting the GATE 2022 application form, candidates must take a printout of the confirmation page for their future reference. By completing all the steps carefully and correctly, there is a high chance of IIT authorities accepting the candidates’ submitted forms.
