The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has concluded the second shift of today’s Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. In this shift, the examination for the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper was held. The afternoon session of the exam was held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering exam took place in a fully computer-based test (CBT) mode. The question paper followed an objective-type pattern. How to check?
The official answer keys of the GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering paper are often released a few days after the conclusion of the exam. Meanwhile, various coaching centres and subject experts come up with unofficial answer keys and post them on platforms like YouTube. So, candidates can make use of these and check them by following these steps.
Step 1- Go to YouTube or the Telegram app.
Step 2- Type ‘GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering answer key’ on the search box.
Step 3- A list of videos, PDFs will appear.
Step 4- Take a look at the question paper discussions and calculate a tentative score.

Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme
The pattern of the test papers for GATE 2022 is objective-type based. As per the official information bulletin, the pattern of questions includes some Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. For Electrical Engineering, candidates were given a duration of 03 hours to appear for the exam.
Through this examination, the candidate’s recall, comprehension, application, analysis and synthesis skills are tested. There were a total of 65 questions asked in the exam. Moreover, these questions were again divided into 10 from General Aptitude (GA) and 55 from Electrical Engineering. Similar to this, the marks distribution is done as per the criteria given below.
- GA – 15 marks
- Engineering Mathematics – 13 marks
- EE – 72 marks
The total marks of the question paper is 100. For every 01 mark MCQ, 1/3 marks will be deducted. Similarly, for every 02 mark MCQ, 2/3 marks from the question will be deducted.
