The very first day of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 exam has been concluded by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. There were two shifts and the exam for the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper was held in the afternoon session. The afternoon session of the exam took place from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering exam is being held in a fully computer-based test (CBT) mode. The question paper followed an objective-type pattern.
However, with the conclusion of the exam, several coaching institutes and subject experts have started releasing the answer keys for the EE paper. Even if these answer keys are unofficial, they can help the candidates to analyze their performance in the paper. These answer keys are released by notable coaching institutes like EduGATE Engineering Academy, BYJU’s Exam Prep, The GATE Academy, AptiXpress, etc.
Where to check?
These coaching institutes have come up with not only the questions but also the answer keys of the GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering ((EE) paper. Candidates can check them from YouTube. Although the official answer keys may take some time to get released, the ones by these coaching centres can come in handy for evaluating one’s performance. Here’s how one can check.

Step 2- Type ‘GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering answer key’ on the search box
Step 3- A list of videos will appear
Step 4- Check for the name of the channels and then go through the answer keys.

Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme
There is an objective-type pattern followed in the GATE 2022 exam. As per the official information bulletin, the pattern of questions includes Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The total marks of the question paper is 100. For every 01 mark MCQ, 1/3 marks will be deducted. Similarly, for every 02 mark MCQ, 2/3 marks from the question will be deducted.
This aptitude examination essentially tests the candidate’s recall, comprehension, application, analysis and synthesis skills. A total of 65 questions are asked in the exam. Moreover, these questions are again divided into 10 from General Aptitude (GA) and 55 from Electrical Engineering. Similar to this, the marks distribution is done as per the criteria given below.
- GA – 15 marks
- Engineering Mathematics – 13 marks
- EE – 72 marks
