GATE 2021 Change of Exam City Opens on 28 Oct; Here is How You Can Edit Center

The change of exam city choices will be allowed this year free of any applicable fee. The facility will be available online only at GOAPS.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will allow the registered candidates to change the preference, or change the choices of exam cites for GATE 2021 exam from October 28, 2020. This correction facility will be available free of any applicable fee this year. The last date to avail this facility will be November 13, 2020. The exam city change facility will be available under the respective logins of the candidates at GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS), appsgate.iitb.ac.in.

To access the GATE 2021 edit window, candidates have to login to GOAPS using their enrollment ID / email ID and password. After logging in, the candidate dashboard shall open containing the ‘change applicant details’ option. By clicking on this option, the submitted application form of the respective candidate shall open. To change the center, candidates must search the examination details section and change their submitted center to the preferred center. After clicking on the ‘submit’ option, the modifications shall get automatically saved.

Other than the exam center change option candidates will be also able to edit details like category and choice of exam papers. This year candidates are allowed to apply for a maximum of 2 subject papers in GATE. These changes, however, will require payment of the requisite fee. The dit window for these changes too shall be available from October 28 to November 13, 2020 at GOAPS.

Until October 21, 2020, IIT B is also sending out emails to the candidates who have defects in their application form. The candidates who receive an email in this regard, have to login to GOAPS and rectify the error mentioned in the mail as soon as they get the intimation. The application form stands rejected if these errors are not rectified.

IITs shall release a list of rejected application forms with their reasons for rejection before the release of the GATE 2021 admit card. The candidates whose forms are rejected shall not be issued the exam admit card. 3 different lists are released on the official website of IITs. The first list contains candidates whose application forms are rejected due to duplicity; the second list consists of those whose application forms are rejected due to multiple submission of applications. The third list consists of candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria.

GATE 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on February 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14, 2021 for candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate courses pertaining to engineering, technology, and architecture.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that is conducted at All India level to offer admission in courses like M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch and Ph.D. GATE is a computer-based test and is conducted on a rotational basis by IITs and IISC Bangalore. GATE 2021 will be held for 27 different subject papers. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions, Multiple Select Questions, and numerical answer type questions. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The test is of 100 marks. The scores of GATE is valid for 3 years. Many PSUs consider GATE scores for the recruitments.
