GATE 2019 Registration with Normal Fee until 21 September; OTP Verification Can Be Done After Payment Also, Says IITM

September 21, 2018, is the last date to apply for the GATE 2019 exam with normal fees after this date candidates have to pay an extra amount of Rs. 500/- to apply for GATE 2019. The last date to fill the application form with this extra amount is October 01, 2018. After this date registration will close completely. Another thing which is important is that, IIT Madras will open an application form correction window from September 24, 2018.

Candidates can have a sigh of relief as it has been notified by the concerned authority that the receipt of SMS and E-Mail OTPs by the candidates is taking a little longer time as the number of applicants using the GOAPS site has tremendously increased from last 2 days. Therefore, it has been certified by the governing authority that candidates can go ahead with filling the application forms and payment without waiting for the OTP verification. The OTP verifications can be done even after the payment.

The online application form filling for GATE 2019 started from August 31, 2018. For female candidates, SC/ ST/ PwD the amount is Rs 750/- and for others, it is Rs 1500/-. For exam cities apart in foreign countries, the amount is USD 50 for Addis Ababa, Colombo, Dhaka, Kathmandu. The amount for Singapore and Dubai is USD 100.

This is the first time when GATE application forms are made available in an extended period. If the candidates do not apply for GATE 2019 until September 21, 2018, they will have to pay a late fee. The fee for female candidates and SC/ ST/ PwD will be Rs 1250/- and for others, the amount will be Rs 2,000/-. Those candidates who will submit the fee late, outside India such as Addis Ababa, Colombo, Dhaka, Kathmandu will have to pay USD 70. Similarly, the candidates applying from Singapore and Dubai will have to pay an additional fee which is USD 120.

To fill the GATE 2019 Application Form, candidates will have to visit the GOAPS Portal and register themselves. After the registration, candidates can fill the GATE 2019 Application Form by Logging in with the enrollment ID and Date of Birth provided by the governing authority at the time of registration. Candidates will have to fill their personal, academic and communication details very carefully. After filling the details, candidates will have to attach certain documents with GATE 2019 Application Form.

The candidates who will submit the application forms successfully, will be issued GATE 2019 Admit Card. Candidates can download their Admit Cards by Logging onto the GOAPS Portal. Candidates must keep in mind that GATE 2019 Admit Cards will be made available online only, it will not be sent by post or by any other means.
