IIM Calcutta on September 18, 2018, has extended the CAT Registration Date for academic session 2019-21. Previously, candidates could able to register until 19 September but now the window has been extended to September 26, 2018. Candidates can use this golden opportunity to register for CAT and appear for national level examination on November 25, 2018.
With the announcement of the last date, the exam conducting body has also announced the application correction window for CAT 2018. In this window, candidates can re-upload the photograph, in case they have uploaded the blurred or invalid image. The facility for photograph correction can be availed from 27 September starting from 10:00 AM to 30 September ending at 05:00 PM.
This is the first time that the exam conducting body has opened the correction window to re-upload images in the form. So, it can be suggested that due to a large number of requests by the candidates to edit the image in the form, the body has opened the correction window. Even on the social media platforms, candidates were raising queries to know how to edit the uploaded image in the form.
Only applicants who will successfully submit the application fee will able to avail this facility.
Since the window is available, candidates must now upload the images in the correct format. This would be the last chance after that no request to do the same will be entertained. You must upload the clear colored passport size photograph of dimension 30 mm (width) x 45 mm (height) only. The size must be less than 80 Kb and the image resolution should be 150 px/inch (min).
There are many candidates who have uploaded the wrong data in the form and need to edit the same. The common mistakes are an error in uploading marks, test city preference etc. So, it might be possible that the IIM-C will open the application correction window in the first week of October 2018. Still, if you have made any mistake in the form, you must write at cathelpdesk@iimcat.ac.in to get the solution of the problem.
Most importantly, in order to avoid any mistakes, make sure that you read all the important instructions on the official website. This will help you fill the form correctly and will save you from any trouble later.
Once the registration and application correction window close, the CAT Admit Card will release on October 24, 2018. The hall ticket will be available at iimcat.ac.in. Candidates can access it after entering the CAT registration number and password. On the test day, it is compulsory to carry it with the photo identity proof. Most importantly, follow exam rules, dress code to avoid trouble on the test centre.
CAT examination will take place on 25 November, until now it is not clear if there will be any change in the exam pattern. Variation in the pattern will only be known after the conduction of the exam. According to the convenor Prof. Sumanta Basu, the difficulty level of the paper will be set after considering the candidates from all the streams. This will help to bring diversity in the academic batch of management studies.
