Recently, the official website of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2019, has been made public, around 1:30 PM on August 4. As the year 2019 has been “the year of changes” for some of the national level entrances, candidates were eagerly waiting for more elaborate notification regarding the GATE entrance examination, as well.

IIT Madras, the organising institute of GATE 2019,  has released the website gate.iitm.ac.in. with the information brochure, the official advertisement, instructions for international candidates, and all the other necessary pre-exam details for the entrance.

What’s New In GATE 2019?

Almost a month ago, the official website of GATE 2019 was made public but it was taken back by the authorities due to some unknown reasons. We are assuming it for some testing purpose, but the clarification has not yet been provided by the authorities regarding the same. A section “What is new in GATE 2019?” has been added, which specifies that earlier this entrance was conducted for 23 papers only. But now, this year onwards it will be conducted for 24 papers. The new paper which has been introduced is that of Statistics. The syllabus of the GATE 2019 Statistics paper has also been made available to the candidates, on the official website.

GATE 2019 CHANGES

GATE which is conducted for providing admissions in IITs, NITs, CFTIs and IISc. Under M.Tech/M.E./M.Arch/M.Plan/MCA etc. courses, has also extended the last day of submission of applications, unlike the previous years.

The eligible candidates can start with the application form fillup process which begins on September 01, 2018 on the GOAPS website, whereas the last date for submitting the application has been specified as September 21, 2018. And for those candidates who missed to submit their applications on the allotted time period, the Board has decided to extend the last date to October 01, 2018. Note that, a late fee of 500 INR will be applicable to the candidates submitting their applications during the extended time period.

Furthermore, if any candidate wishes to change his or her allotted test center, he or she can request the same with an additional fee till November 16, 2018. The GATE 2019 Admit Cards will also be available on the official website for downloading by January 4, 2019, i.e nearly a month prior to the GATE 2019 Exam. The GATE 2019 results will be available on March 16, 2019.
