IIT, Madras has recently announced that it will be opening a correction window for the GATE 2019 application form. Candidates will be given the chance to rectify the errors committed at the time of filling their applications, one last time. The GATE 2019 Application Form correction window will be opening on September 24, 2018. All the applicants need to visit the GOAPS website as per the different dates allotted for different fields or details to be edited. Post this period, the authorities will not be entertaining any requests regarding the same.

As per the notice released, only a few details can be edited via the correction window opened for GATE 2019 Application form. The details that can be edited are the candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, category, PWD status, Dyslexia, and other similar learning disabilities information, parent’s or guardian’s details, college name, roll number, exam paper, and exam city. Though, the time for some of these details to be edited has been released, while the others will be announced later on.

The GATE 2019 authorities have mentioned clearly that some of your details like name, date of birth, parent’s or guardian’s details and the college or institute name, along with your roll number or registration number should match to the documented proof submitted. In case of changing the gender from male to female, no refund of the amount will be done, whereas candidates need to pay the difference amount of Rs.750 for changing their gender to male from female.

Similarly, a candidate needs to pay the difference amount of Rs. 750, if he or she wishes to change the category from SC/ST to Gen/OBC and no refund will be done for changing the category from Gen/OBC to SC/ST. Also, for details relating to PwD or Disability status, a candidate needs to submit a valid proof, certifying the disability condition. For changing the PwD status from “No” to “Yes”, a candidate won’t be provided with the refund amount. And for doing the vice versa( i.e changing the status from “Yes” to “No”) a candidate will be required to pay off the specified amount of fee.

The application process for GATE 2019 has already commenced over the GOAPS website. Interested candidates can start filling up their forms and submit their completed forms before the last date which is September 21, 2018. After the last date candidates can fill the form in the extended period until October 01, 2018 with a late fee of Rs. 500/-.
