The GATE 2019 Application Form Correction window closes today i.e. October 25, 2018. The disclaimer put up on the official website of GATE 2019, clearly states that “Applications of those candidates who do not attend the defect by October 25, 2018, will not be considered for GATE 2019 examination.” Therefore, all the candidates who have yet not rectified any error in their application form can do it by today.
Corrections in the application forms are to be made by logging into the GOAPS portal using the GATE 2019 enrollment ID and password.
IIT Madras will be issuing the GATE 2019 Admit Card only to those candidates who will submit their application forms without any error. The admit card will be available at GOAPS portal under the candidate’s login from January 04, 2019 onwards.
The exam pattern of GATE 2019 will vary for all the 24 papers. Statistics is the new paper that has been introduced this year in GATE exam. However, one common thing about the exam pattern of GTAE 2019 for all 24 papers is that all 24 papers will have 65 marks in total, carrying 100 marks. The duration of the examination will be 3 hours.
The exam will be in online mode only and there will be 2 types of questions in all the 24 paper that are MCQs and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). There will be few questions that will carry 2 marks and there will be questions that will carry 1 marks.
For questions carrying 1 marks, the negative marking is -1/3. Similarly for questions carrying 2 marks the negative marking will be of -2/3. Although in NATs, there will be no negative marking.
Candidates were given the option to choose their paper as per their qualifications during the application form fill up process. GATE 2019 exam will be conducted on February 2, 3, 9, and 10, 2019. there will be 2 shifts on each day – 9:30 AM to 12:30 Noon and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The details of exam venue and time will be available in the GATE 2019 Admit Card itself along with other important exam day instructions.
GATE exam is being conducted for admission in various M.Tech / M.Sc. / M.Arch / M.Plan / Ph.D courses, offered by IITs. In addition to that candidates also apply and take GATE exam for PSU recruitment. This year IIT Madras is the conducting body for the GATE exam.
