Food Safety & Standards Authority of India is inviting applications to fill up vacancies for the posts of Director, Manager, and CTO. FSSAI has published official recruitment in this regard at its official website i.e. fssai.gov.in. As per the notice, eligible candidates can apply for the recruitment online at the aforementioned website and send the hard copy of the application form before the specified last date. The last date of submission of online application form is August 31, 2020, till 11.59 PM. Application windows are open since August 01, 2020, and interested applicants are advised not to wait till the last date. The last date of receipt of hard copy of application form along with supporting documents is September 15, 2020.
As per the official recruitment notice, the vacancies are for the posts of Director (Technical), Principal Manager and Chief Technology Officer (IT). There are 02 vacancies available for the post of Director (Technical) while a single vacancy is available for each of the posts of Principal Manager and CTO (IT). The advertised vacancies are to be filled up on a direct recruitment basis from selected candidates.
Indian nationals meeting other eligibility criteria can apply for the recruitment. Date of birth, as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Certificates is considered when determining the age of the applicants. Candidates having a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Edible Oil Technology, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Agriculture/Horticulture Sciences, Industrial Microbiology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Science, Biotechnology, Fruit & Vegetable Technology or Food Safety & Quality Assurance are eligible to apply for the post of Director. In addition, those having a PG Diploma (1 year) in Food Safety or associated field, or a B.E./B. Tech degree in the relevant discipline along with 14 years of experience or a Doctorate degree along with 12 years of experience are also eligible to apply for the post of Director.
Those who have a PG degree or diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication or Public Relation or MBA are eligible to apply for the post of Principal Manager. Such applicants must have at least 16 years of relevant experience. Candidates having a Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree in a relevant field are eligible to apply for the post of Chief Technology Officer (IT). In addition, such candidates must have at least 16 years of experience in the IT industry among which, 10 years must be in the large application development area. In addition, applicants must have 05 years of experience of working in the Government sector.
Eligible applicants are to be shortlisted for final appointment on the basis of interviews. The authority may adopt selection criteria at their discretion if the number of applicants are sufficiently large. Candidates are advised to go through the official notification to ensure that they fulfil all terms & conditions and understand the selection and appointment conditions before applying for the recruitment.
The applications must be submitted online at the official website. The link to fill up and submit the online application form is available at the website till the last date. Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 1000 to apply for the recruitment. However, this only applies to General & OBC candidates. SC/ST, ESM, PwBD, EWS and female candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee and are only required to pay the intimation charges i.e. Rs 250. In addition to the submission of the online application, one must also forward the hard copy of their applications along with the specified documents in the form of self attested copies before the last date to complete the application procedure.
