The Education Minister has recently announced a high level meeting regarding the decision on the commencement of several examinations. This meeting will be organized on May 23, 2021. He will be joined by the Defence Minister, Union Cabinet Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development and Minister of Information & Broadcasting.

The Prime Minister has asked Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to take decisions of students’ lives only after “wide consultations with all State Governments and Stakeholders”. Thus, the Education Minister conducted a virtual meeting on May 17, 2021, at 11:00 AM. This meeting was joined by  State Education Secretaries. Three agendas were discussed in this meeting. The first was whether it is feasible to hold the Boards exam amid COVID-19. The second agenda being COVID-19 and online education. The last and final agenda was the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Now, the Education Minister has decided to strengthen the consultative process by conducting a big meeting on May 23, 2021 at 11:30 AM. Some of the eminent leaders including the Defence Minister Shri Raj Nath Singh, Smt. Smriti Irani and Shri Prakash Javdekar will also be a part of this meeting. Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal has also invited all the State Government Ministers and Secretaries to the meeting.

In the last thread of this tweet, the Education Minister has also asked students to share their valuable opinions on whether the exam should be conducted or not. It is expected that this meeting will discuss whether the  Board Exams, NEET, JEE, and others should take place or not. Students of the 12th Boards exam, JEE Mains and NEET wish to postpone the exam as the COVID-19 situation is not under control.

With the Education Minister’s asking suggestion, aspirants have filled the reply section with their opinions. A student has shared that the exam should be cancelled as lakhs of students will be appearing for the Boards exam. There are high chances of them getting infected by this deadly virus.

Another candidate has asked to either take the examination or promote them to the next session till they get vaccinated.  Thereafter they can take the examination.

Students are concerned about their health as they continuously share such tweets with various hashtags. One of such candidate has suggested that the result should be prepared based on the internal assessment. Now, all eyes are stick to the decision that is expected to be announced on May 23, 2021, or after. The final decision will be made only after Consultation and considering students health and safety.
