Up until the last year, CBSE did not impose any strict guidelines on what to wear at the JEE Main exam. As of now, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not issued any such guidelines either. However, general rules are applicable universally on what one should not wear inside any exam center. This year for the JEE Main 2019 January Exam 9.65 registrations has been received.

Frisking and verification are done at the JEE Main 2019 Exam center. Being a national level examination, the frisking is strict. Last year metal detectors were used at several exam centers to frisk the candidates. Thus, the importance of dress code comes into play here. To ease and make the frisking process less time consuming and easy, following a few JEE Main 2019 Dress Codes is advisable.

What can you wear?

Keeping in mind the January month, the weather will be cool and pleasant. Thus, the male candidates can wear full sleeves jackets and shirts however the clothing must have less or no pockets. Wear simple trousers/jeans. For the female candidates, wear anything with no or fewer pockets again. Go for loose and comfortable items of clothing.

What you cannot wear?

Do not wear any fancy scarfs/stoles, goggles, jewelry items are strictly prohibited as there will be frisking and metal detectors will be installed at the exam centers. Avoid wearing caps and watches inside the exam center too. These items make frisking difficult and thus must be avoided to make the process easier and convenient.

Important Guidelines To Note

Apart from what to wear and what not to wear, there are other important guidelines that the NTA has officially released about the JEE Main 2019 Exam centers. The first one being about the JEE Main 2019 Admit Card. The JEE Main 2019 Admit Card for the January session is releasing from December 17, 2018.

The JEE main 2019 Admit Card is the only document that can be used to enter the examination centers. The admit card will be available online under the JEE Main 2019 Login. To download the JEE Main 2019 Admit Card, candidates have to log in using their JEE Main 2019 application number and password. The hard copy of the downloaded admit card is to be carried at the centers to be able to appear in the exam.

Along with the admit card, the candidates will also need to carry a valid photo id proof at the exam center. The photo id proof includes any of these –  PAN card, Voter’s ID card, Aadhaar Card, College ID Card, etc.

Inside the exam center, the candidates are prohibited to carry any digital watch, analog watch, bags, sheets of papers except for the admit card, food items or any other items.

the JEE main 2019 January Exam is being conducted between January 06-20, 2019. The paper 1 will be conducted in 2 shifts – 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m and 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. However paper 2 will be conducted only on January 08, 2019, in again 2 similar shifts.
