Directorate of Health Services, Assam, is inviting online applications to fill up vacancies for the posts of Staff Nurse (Critical Care) and Laboratory Technician (ICU Technical). A total of 768 vacancies are advertised for these posts in an official employment notification posted by the Directorate. The online application process is starting on July 15, 2020, at the official website i.e. dhs.assam.gov.in. The last date of submission of online applications is July 25, 2020. Interested candidates are advised to visit the website and go through the complete notification before applying online for the aforementioned recruitment.
There are 640 openings available for the post of Staff Nurse and 128 openings are available for the post of Lab. Technician. These vacancies are available in the 32 ICU units of COVID-19 hospitals of districts under the administration of the Directorate of Health Services, Assam. Selected candidates are to be paid in the pay scale as established under the provisions of the Assam Service (RoP) Rules, 2019. Staff Nurses are eligible to be appointed at the pay scale of Rs 14000 to Rs 60,500 with Grade Pay of Rs 8700. On the other hand, Lab. Technicians are eligible to be appointed at the pay scale of Rs 14000 to Rs 60,500 along with Grade Pay of Rs 6200.
Candidates are required to check and ensure that they comply with the prescribed minimum eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. The minimum age of the applicants must be 18 years as on 01.01.2020. The maximum permissible age is 38 years on the aforementioned date. Relaxations of 3 years on the upper age limit can be availed by OBC candidates while SC, ST (P) and ST (H) candidates are eligible for relaxations of up to 5 years on the upper age limit. In addition, candidates applying for the post of Staff Nurse must have a B.Sc. Nursing degree and registered with the Nurses’ Midwives’ & Health Visitors Council. On the other hand, Lab. Technician applicants must have passed Laboratory Technician course from recognized institute i.e. GMCH Guwahati, AMCH Dibrugarh and SMCH Silchar. The qualification must have been obtained before the introduction of 2 years DMLT course from government recognized institutes.
The application process is conducted completely online. Therefore, eligible and interested applicants are required to visit the website of the Directorate of Health, Assam as specified here. The application process is completely free of cost. However, candidates are required to submit copies of supporting documents, The selection of candidates is to be done through written exam and skill tests as further notified by the Directorate in later stages. The details of the OMR based test and other post details are to be published by DHS in due course of time at the official website. The final merit lists for the appointment of selected candidates are to be compiled on the basis of the marks obtained in the written exam and the skills tests taken together. In cases two or more candidates secure the same marks, the candidate higher in age is to be ranked at the top in the merit lists.
