Registration for the CUET 2022 entrance exam official ended on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 5:00 pm while the deadline to pay application fee was set on the same date, at 11:50 pm. As per reports, as many as 9,13,540 candidates have successfully registered for the UG entrance exam, surpassing even the JEE Main 2022 registration figures. All those who have applied for the test will be able to access the correction window from tomorrow, May 25, 2022, onwards. This facility can be accessed online, on the official website samarth.ac.in.
The Central University Eligibility Test (CUET) UG 2022 exam is likely to be conducted in the month of July. However, an exact date is yet to be announced by NTA, the conducting body for the entrance test.
CUET 2022 Statistics and Important Figures
A total of 87 universities and their affiliated institutes will be participating in the first-ever session of CUET UG 2022 exam. Of the 9.13 candidates, female aspirants hold a share of 44.2% whereas, unreserved candidates hold a share of 47% in term of category-wise distribution. These figures have been published in a recent report by the Times of India.
Recently, the centre exempted eight central universities in the northeast region and one located in Uttarakhand from conducting CUET 2022. The decision was taken in light of “operational difficulties”.
As per the CUET UG 2022 guidelines, each aspirant is permitted to appear for a maximum of 9 subject papers. By doing so, a student is likely to apply to multiple universities for numerous courses. Accordingly, the university-wise, cumulative count of applications came out to be 47.69 lakh.
According to reports, Delhi University leads the way with maximum number of applications i.e., over 6 lakh applications followed by Banaras Hindu University and University of Allahabad follow suit with 3.9 lakh and 2.3 lakh applications, respectively.
With respect to states/UTs, the top 5 positions are occupied by Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Surprisingly, most states in this list belong to the Northern region.
CUET 2022 Correction Window
As mentioned before, the CUET 2022 correction window shall tomorrow and is scheduled to close on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Using this facility, candidates be limited to the “Tests” opted section and will not cover other parts.
only those candidates who have successfully paid the CUET 2022 fees will be allowed to access this facility. Furthermore, beyond this facility however, NTA will not accept any rectifications or changes. Hence, students are advised to use this facility carefully.
