The CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) Paper 2 exam was conducted today i.e December 22, 2021, from 2.30 p.m. till 5.00 p.m. Candidates have said that the overall difficulty of the paper was easy to navigate, especially the Mathematics section. However, there were more questions from pedagogy in Maths. The maximum weightage was given to questions from Triangle, Angles, Co-efficient, Area, and Number Series. The questions in science were mostly from Density, Electricity, and Displacement Reaction. The language section of the paper was also very easy. The questions of social studies were concept-based.
The exam was conducted for a total of 150 marks and comprised of 150 questions. Each question carried one mark and there was also no provision of negative marking for the exam. CTET Paper 2 was divided into four sections. These sections were Language I, Language II, Child Development: Pedagogy, Mathematics, and Science and Social Studies respectively. The mathematics and science section comprises 60 marks along with Social Studies. The rest of the sections are for 30 marks each.
Some educators and teachers like DK Gupta, Let’s Learn and Exampur would be releasing an in-depth analysis along with the exam answers on the streaming platform Youtube as well as their own web portals.
Candidates who intend to teach Class 6-8 will have appeared for the exam. Candidates who intend to teach Class 1-8 have to write both Paper 1 and 2. The answer key for all the CTET examinations will be released on the official website ctet.nic.in, in January 2022. The final result will be announced on February 15, 2022, and the certificates will be dispatched in March 2022.
Candidates who are appearing for the exam will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks that they score in CTET 2021. The qualify marks are 60% and 55% for general category and reserved category candidates respectively. Those who qualify for the exam will be required to apply for different vacancies in various schools for recruitment. The CTET is an eligibility exam that they have to qualify for to attain the certificate.
