CSIR Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur is conducting a recruitment process for the JRF-GATE under ‘CSIR’s Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) GATE’. The conducting body has announced 05 vacancies under this recruitment. Aspirants who have appeared for the GATE examination can apply for different activities and research programmes conducted under this recruitment process. Acknowledging the COVID-19 impact, an interview round is conducted for selection through SKYPE. Eligible candidates are appointed on a temporary basis. Aspirants with B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical / Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science and Engineering can apply for the post. It is compulsory for all the interested candidates to have valid GATE score. The upper age limit for the eligible candidates is 28 years as on August 02, 2020. Candidates with ME/M.Tech degree are not eligible for the post. To know about the age relaxation, and other reservation policy candidates must refer to the official notification.
The eligible candidates have to register for Integrated Dual Degree PhD (IDDP) program in AcSIR only. Aspirants can submit their application form through email address – [email protected]. The application form should be submitted in prescribed format along with the all original certificates, mark sheets and a recent passport size photograph. The SKYPE ID provided by the candidates are used at the time of interview round. The conducting body organizes the selection process through online video calling interview round. The information related to date and time for the interview is conveyed through the Institute’s official website. Aspirants who are shortlisted have to carry original documents at the time of joining.
Candidates who are shortlisted for the post also have to participate in the different research projects. The total duration of the fellowship is for 05 years in which candidates are expected to complete their PhD degree as well. For the first two years, candidates receive Rs.31,000/- per month. Further, after the completion, candidates are provided with Rs.35,000/- as a monthly stipend. The monthly stipend of the candidates is increased on the bias of the candidate’s performance and JRF/SRF-GATE guidelines.
