CLAT 2019 Exam Date Changes To 26 May; Registrations Ending On 31 Mar

The CLAT 2019 exam has been rescheduled from  May 12, 2019, to May 26, 2019. Due to the Lok Sabha Elections all over the nation, the dates of many entrance exam is being affected and the Common Law admission test (CLAT) is one of them.

CLAT 2019 exam is now scheduled to be held on May 26, 2019, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in offline mode. The decision of changing the exam date was taken at the meeting of the CLAT Consortium held on March 18, 2019.

The Lok Sabha election is being held in 7 phases and phase 6 of the election is being held on May 12, 2019. Therefore to remove the chances of inconvenience for the examinees, the CLAT 2019 exam dates have been postponed.

CLAT 2019 exam pattern remains the same. The UG paper of CLAT 2019 will be out of 200 marks, and candidates will be tested on English (40 marks), General Knowledge and Current Affairs (50 marks), Mathematics (20 marks), Legal Aptitude (50 marks), and Logical Reasoning (40 marks). There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Each correct answer fetches 1 mark.

For the PG exam, the pattern has been changed. There will be a total of 150 questions. The duration of the paper will be of 2 hours. there will be both types of questions subjective and objective. the marks distribution is 50 Marks (Two Essay type questions each of 25 Marks), and the rest MCQ questions are of 100 marks in all. There will be questions from Constitutional law, Other Law Subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR and Jurisprudence, and some Subjective questions.

This year 21 NLUs are participating in the CLAT 2019 exam. Apart from the 21 NLUs, 17 private law colleges have also signed an MoU with the Consortium to use CLAT scores for admission.

Applying for CLAT 2019

Candidates can apply for the CLAT 2019 exam until March 31, 2019. To apply for the CLAT 2019 exam the candidates have to visit the website of CLAT that is clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in. Thereafter they need to register using the link available on the home page. To register the candidate has to provide their working email id and phone number.

After registering they need to fill the online application form and pay off the application fee in the online mode only. The application fee is Rs. 4000 for the General/OBC/SAP and other category candidates. For the SC/ST candidates, the application fee is Rs. 3500.

There is no age limit to apply for the CLAT 2019 exam, nor for the UG exams and neither for the PG exam.

CLAT 2019 exam is being conducted by NLU, Odisha. the application process for the CLAT 2019 started on January 13, 2019. The exam pattern of the CLAT UG remains the same but the CLAT PG exam pattern was changed. From 2019 2 HPNLU, Shimla and NLU, Jabalpur has joined CLAT.
