Central Railway has published an official notification inviting applications to fill up vacancies for the post of Contract Medical Practitioner. Incidentally, the said division of Indian Railways issued a notification earlier on the same matter (dated July 16, 2020) for engagement of 18 CMPs. The latest notification is in continuation of the earlier notice for engagement of 18 CMPs hence prolonging the recruitment to maintain effective strength of doctors. Eligible and intending candidates can forward applications on the prescribed proforma till 06.00 PM of November 30, 2020.
As per the detailed notice available at cr.indianrailways.gov.in, selected candidates are to be engaged for a maximum period of 03 months or till December 31, 2020, whichever is earlier. Candidates who can join immediately to the Dr. BAM Hospital, Byculla, Mumbai will be preferred. Received applications will be scrutinized on a weekly basis or as per urgency/requirement. The selection of applicants will be done through online interview on a weekly basis as per urgency/requirement.
The vacancies are for the posts of Physician, Anesthetist/Intensivists and GDMO (MBBS). There are 04 openings available for the post of Physician, 04 for the post of Anesthetist/Intensivists and 10 for the post of GDMO (MBBS). It must be noted that the selection through the rolling recruitment will be made in such a way that the number of engaged candidates will not be more than 18 at any point of time. Selected candidates will be paid Rs 75000 per month for the post of CMP GDMO(MBBS) Doctor and Rs 95000 per month for the post of Physician and Anesthetist/Intensivists.
Candidates intending to apply for the recruitment must ensure that they fulfil all the specified minimum eligibility conditions. The age of the applicants cannot be more than 53 years as on December 01, 2020. However, relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST/ESM candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates will be applicable as per government norms.
Applicants must be holding an MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India. For Specialist posts, a Post Graduate qualification in the relevant field is required. In addition, for Specialist posts, at least 03 years of experience in Clinical work after Post Graduate qualification is necessary. For the post of GDMO, candidates must have MBBS degree recognized by the MCI and included in the first or second schedule or part eleven of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Such applicants must have completed compulsory rotating internship.
A waiting list will be drawn on the basis of the interview from the eligible applicants. At the time of joining, selected candidates have to produce original documents for verification. In case of any discrepancies, the next candidate in the waiting list will be called for joining. The engagement will be continued until the required number of doctors i.e. 18 are maintained. Empanelled doctors may be considered for engagement in case of future requirement of additional doctors.
