The Indian Railways have published an official recruitment notification to fill up vacancies in the Nagpur division of the Central Railway. The vacancies are for various medical and paramedical posts in COVID-19 isolation coaches. Accordingly, 60 openings have been indicated by the railways for posts such as Specialists, CMP, Health Inspector, and Pharmacist. The detailed advertisement and the appended application form can be downloaded from the official website of Indian Railways i.e. indianrailways.gov.in. Eligible and interested candidates can apply on the prescribed proforma till July 20, 2020, and thereafter till July 30, 2020.
The applications for the aforementioned recruitment must be forwarded in the prescribed proforma to [email protected] Applications must be attached with copies of supporting documents of qualifications, age proof etc. The selection of eligible candidates is to be done through online interview. In the initial stage, online interview is to be conducted for those applicants who send their applications before the last date i.e. July 20 and thereafter July 30. Thereafter, applications are to be considered up to 10th, 20th and 30th of each month till the required number of candidates are empanelled.
As per the detailed recruitment notification, the vacancies are bifurcated across different medical and paramedical posts. 4 vacancies each are available for the posts of Specialist (Anesthetist), Specialist (Physician), and Specialist (Intensivist). There are 36 openings for the post of CMP (GDMO). Similarly, there are 6 vacancies for the post of Health and Malaria Inspector/Sanitation Supervisor and 6 vacancies for the post of Pharmacist. All of these vacancies are to be filled up on a contractual basis for a temporary period of 3 months only.
The detailed eligibility criteria to apply for the aforementioned posts are provided in the official notification. For each post, there are provisions for the intake of open market candidates or from the pool of candidates who are retired or Central/State government employees. For the posts of Specialist (Anesthetist/Physician/Intensivist), an MBBS degree with a post-graduate diploma in the relevant discipline and specified experience is required to apply. Open market candidates can be up to 53 years of age while retired candidates must be within 65 years of age for the posts of Specialist (Anesthetist/Physician/Intensivist) and CMP (GDMO).
Candidates applying for the post of Health & Malaria Inspector/Sanitation Supervisor must have a B.Sc. degree with Chemistry as a subject. In addition, such candidates must have a 1-year Diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspector or NCVT awarded certificate in Health and Sanitary Inspector. Open market candidates for this post must be within the age range of 18 to 33 years while Retired candidates must be within the upper age limit of 65 years. On the other hand, those applying for the post of Pharmacist must have studied Science in 10+2 and having a D.Pharma/B.Pharma degree along with registration under the Pharmacy Act 1948. Open market for this post must be within the age of 20 to 35 years while retired candidates must be within the upper age limit of 65 years.
Eligible candidates who are appointed are entitled to receive fixed monthly remuneration. Those who are appointed to the post of Specialist are entitled to receive monthly remuneration of Rs 95000 for open market candidates and Rs 46000 for retired candidates. Open market candidates for CMP (GDMO) are entitled to receive Rs 75000 monthly remuneration while retired candidates are entitled to Rs 46000. Open market candidates for the post of Health & Malaria Inspector/Sanitation Supervisor and Pharmacist are entitled to receive remuneration of Rs 35400 and Rs 29200 respectively. Retired candidates, for these posts are entitled to receive remuneration after deduction of pension amount from the last pay drawn.
