This year, the Central Board of School Examinations (CBSE) is conducting the class 10, 12 board exams in two terms. On October 18, 2021, the CBSE board released Term 1 date sheet 2022 online at cbse.gov.in. With the release of the date sheet, an unusual hashtag was also shared on Twitter, which is #cbseterm1online.
For the Term 1 exams students will be required to take examinations at their respective institutions; nevertheless, many students have objected and said that they want online exams for online classes. With the release of the DateSheet of Term-1 2021-22, a tweet has made a divide on Twitter using a particular tag “ #cbseterm1online”. Is it a blunder done by CBSE or a hint to an option for Online Examination of CBSE Term-1?
CBSE had announced Offline exams for Class 10th and 12th, but on its Offical Twitter Handle @cbseindia29 while posting the update made a grave confusion among the pupil and their parents. The board had declared that the exams will be objective in nature and will last 90 minutes. Keeping the winter season in consideration, the tests will begin at 11.30 a.m. instead of 10.30 a.m. Knowing the exam is offline, students were waiting for the release of DateSheet which was released on October 18, 2021, but now are questioning CBSE for use of #cbseterm1online. Students and parents across the lengths and breadths of the country have flooded Twitter, requesting CBSE to provide an option of Online Mode of Term-1 examinations.
Here are a few tweets from the students and their parents requesting the same.

Students and Parents have taken Twitter by storm and are questioning the board. CBSE Controller of Examinations has not released any official statements as of now on this matter.
A few parents are happy with the decision that the Board has finally taken a decision of taking an offline exam as they say that it’s important for students to appear for the exam physically. Meanwhile, students have diverging opinions. Here’s what students say to CBSE through their streak of tweets flooding the social media platform.
“Is that a mistake or indication?? Why did they use #cbseterm1online”

In another tweet, a student said that “Wrote a letter to @cbseindia29 on behalf of the students. I hope #CBSE will show a lenient view on this.

Another CBSE student has tweeted that “#cbsedatesheet #CBSE what is this behaviour? You will conduct offline exam and wrote #cbseterm1online[email protected] conduct exams online then. You have the consent of all the students and parents.”

The situation is still unclear whether CBSE is actually planning to conduct Term 1 online or was it merely a human error by the Indian Education Board officials. This year, CISCE is offering both online and offline exam alternatives, and many students argue that if CISCE can choose students, why can’t CBSE? Students also feel that having online tests for online classes is the best and most fair option.
Candidates have shared Memes to criticize and pressurize CBSE to hold Online Exams.

However, CBSE is trying its level best to conduct the examination ensuring the safety and security of the students and also the staff fraternity of the schools. Controller of Examination of CBSE Mr Bharadwaj added inputs about the Term 2 examinations. Mr Bhardwaj stated that the second-term examination will be held in March-April 2022 and that whether it will be objective or subjective will be determined by the country’s Covid condition.
The board’s decision to split the session into two terms came as a result of the pandemic, which caused the cancellation of board exams for several courses in 2020 and the complete cancellation of the exams in the year 2021 was widely accepted.
