Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully conducted the Mathematics paper today on December 06, 2021. This was the most dreaded paper as most students find the subject to be tough or tricky. To their delight, however, the paper was uniform with a good balance of easy, moderate, and tough questions. The central board had specified the expected weightage for each unit. And so, those who integrated this weightage into their preparation could easily solve this paper.
The exam was held for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, from 11:30 pm to 1:00 pm. They were expected to attempt and solve 40 questions within this duration. Now that the paper is over, students can take a look at the analysis given below –
CBSE Class 12 Maths Paper Analysis
As mentioned in the CBSE Class 12 term-wise syllabus, the Maths paper featured the following chapters and their corresponding weightage –
Unit | Chapter | Weightage |
I | Sets and Functions | 11 |
II | Algebra | 12 |
III | Coordinate Geometry | 6 |
IV | Calculus | 4 |
V | Statistics and Probability | 6 |
The paper contained a mix of easy, moderate, and difficult questions. Only those students who paid close attention to all the formulae, solved in-text and exercise questions could easily solve this paper. Those who studied the NCERT textbook thoroughly could easily solve the questions, irrespective of the length of the solution. Moreover, there was no significant time crunch to face. In fact, a student could dedicate at least 2 minutes to each question.
Of course, the questions weren’t exactly from the Class 12 NCERT Maths textbook. Although the values and specifications differed, the concept remained the same.
