The Term 1 examination of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 has already started and the most anticipated of all, the Mathematics exam is scheduled for Saturday, December 4, 2021. Owing to the prevailing COVID situations, CBSE had earlier introduced a new system for assessment for Class 10. According to the new system the academic year 2021-22 is bifurcated into two terms and two exams will be conducted, one at end of each term. Results of both the exams will be considered for the final score of a student.
The ongoing Term 1 examination is being conducted based on the objective-type format, where the maximum marks allotted are 40 and the exam duration is of 90 minutes. The question paper will be based on 50 % of the total Syllabus. Exams will be conducted from 11:30 am to 01:00 pm.
As the scheme is very new to the students, they are considered the question paper pattern. So, here we are providing the sample paper for mathematics basic and mathematics standard with solutions.

The exam is going to be completely based on the revised syllabus as released by the board and in the Term 1 examination, all the question papers will be of multiple-choice questions. Students are advised to thoroughly study these sample papers to understand the level of examination and understand the latest pattern.
CBSE has further notified that the Term 2 examination will be a written examination consisting of case-based, open-ended short answer and long answer type questions. Furthermore, In the worst-case scenario, if the conditions are not appropriate for normal descriptive examinations, the board may conduct a similar MCQ-based examination for Term 2 as well.
